The main issue is friends being assholes.
The secondary issue is that many of my friends know a furry who is creepy as fuck. He's ~50 and is all kinds of weird, on top of being a furry. He's the kind of guy you suspect of being a pedo. I've met him, and of the few people that give me the heebie jeebies, he is one of them.
I can't trust them to keep him from knowing about any fursuit I make and I *really* don't want to attract his attention. Something will slip somewhere along the lines.

I desperately want to make a fursuit.
However, I have quite a small budget when it comes to cosplaying and whilst there are corners you can cut when making regular costumes you can still end up with quality. From what I've seen with fursuits you can only get quality by using quality material/tools/etc.

Hard to say, especially with always having leftover foam from the previous project. Honestly, not as much as you'd think, I manage to swing it pretty cheaply, 100-200 for most. Moomba is the one that hit 300+ because of the more expensive fur and needing a lot of new foam. Zoroark probably broke into the 200+ zone for the same reason.
I never really keep track, though, so don't take my word for it.

They're called 'Follow Me' eyes and they are usually made by creating the sclera, iris and pupil in a concave/cone shape, then placing a convex or flat lens over it.
You'd have to make it fairly shallow so it's not smashing your face, and align it properly so when it's looked at from different angles the eye appears to be looking back. It's a pretty neat optical illusion.

For me it had more to do with the unrealistic amount of pile for a snow leopard, especially in relation to how much was on the head.

And yes, I know that as far as big cats go, snow leopards have a fairly long pile, but still. It looks sort of goofy THAT long.

It doesn't look as plush as snow leopard fur does, but to get a thick long pile faux fur would be a pain in the ass.
It would likely have to be special made and cost a lot of money.

I do wonder if any suit makers have tried to make a silicone skin for their masks and punch the hair by hand rather than glue fur down.
It would be a long process and up the cost of the mask, but if you are good at it you could make a gorgeous life like mask.

Oof, uh... Well ignore the eyes on Blaziken and Moomba pictured there. Those were made with sharpied chiffon and will be replaced if I fix them up and wear them again.
Of late I've used printed or sharpied buckram (Yes, printed as in, I design the eyes on the computer, then run buckram through my printer) sometimes combined with black screen mesh.
I tend to make fairly flat-looking eyes, sacrificing style in favor of actually being able to see out of the goddamn mask.
