Well. I found it funny.

At same meet up, there was a carrier, wanna say it was the USS Carl Vinson, that was there and these dudes were wandering by and this FC2 (Navyfag here) pulled over one of the girls, hitting on her, and I was like whatev's she's hot, I can't blame him.
Then he smelled her hair.
I debated saying something, but she went with it, so I was like no harm, no foul.

Positively. People this year were flipping their shit at Steampunk Flash.
>Weirdest con moment that comes to mind?
Some dude dressed up as a Heartless from KH (I THINK) came up to me while I was watching the demo for Arkham City, and he kept play punching me in my chest, then acting like he couldn't get through the emblem.
I kind of went with it but I was like at least wait until there's a photoshoot or something.

When I first met Mika, I was super shocked because for the longest time I thought he was a girl (I thought his name was pronounced "Mee-kah").

Every con, there's one of those gawkers that kind of comes up to my table and makes some backhanded awkward comment and then just kinda clings around, either expecting a laugh or applause, or just shuffles away oddly.

"Oh hey, I've seen you on /cgl/ before!" but my favorite is when people tell me they liked something I posted or found something I posted useful. Warm and fuzzies eeeeverryyywheeereeee <33

Fuck, I dunno. I guess just observing the reactions of bronies to some of my MLP gijinka prints? The range of behavior was pretty interesting. THere were a lot of guys who were really enthusiastic, then there were the ones who looked like they felt hugely ashamed to be in the same vicinity of any p0ny-related stuff, but couldn't resist. One guy came and looked at my prints or a good 10 or minutes, then quickly said "i'llhavethefluttershyonehereyougothanks" in a really lo voice and hastily got out of there. Funny stuff.

I won't name names, but I'm pretty sure the west coast Touhou crowd will know exactly who I'm thinking of.

People I know, random people on the floor, or people who recognize me from the internet? People I know greet me like a friend, obviously, and random people on the con floor usually just do the "hey can I have a picture" thing. A handful of times people have recognized me from /cgl/, which is a strong indicator that I spend way too much time here. But I get to meet and hang out with anons and tripfriends, so I don't mind.

I was so embarrassed at myself, oh my god.

My favorite story is how I met my friend Dustin. We met at an Anime Boston Dating Game, spent most of it talking back stage with my in my Yoko costume, a bit hungover so I kept my glasses on. Didn't exchange information or anything, but ended up running into each other at dinner that night where a mutual friend had invited me.

He didn't recognize me until I told the story about how I had tripped and fallen off the stage when the round was over that morning, face planting in front of the whole audience. He just turns to me and goes "You're not a six foot tall Asian chick."

With the boots I'm about 5'7, I still have no idea where he got the Asian thing from.

Something that is mostly only funny in hindsight: I was helping run a photoshoot, where a guest of honor voice actor was attending. It was going really, really great... until a hobo with two dogs showed up in the middle of the park, and tried to baptize the GoH by splashing them with fountain water.
(Someone whose cosplay included an official-looking suit escorted the crazy lady away from the shoot, and basically saved the day)

I'm not a fantastic cosplayer. At all. My cosplays are simple, and I tend to reuse them. So no wow factor there.

But I do a lot of panels and photoshoots, and as such I get a lot of people recognizing me, saying hi by name, even when I'm not in cosplay. And I'll be like, "Oh! Hello! Nice to see you again! Having a good con?" Even though half the time I don't remember where I know them from or what their name is.

When I was hanging out with a group of people cosplaying the same series as I was (Phoenix Wright) and we were all talking about the series, goofing off, acting semi-in-character for laughs, we somehow attracted a fanboy while eating lunch. He just sat with our group, very quietly eating and listening to us, and basking in the moment with joy, looking very happy.

I guess most people would have thought it was really awkward? But mostly, it was just sort of sweet. He was really polite, and didn't bother/follow anyone or do anything creepy afterwards.

This one girl who I think was dressed as...Russia I think while I was Ukraine at CTcon. She approached me and would barely speak above a whisper. She was so nervous for whatever reason. I had no idea what to say to her really, so I just kind of smiled and nodded. She got upset and basically ran away.

Uhh normal I guess? I've never had a bad reaction meeting anyone at a con, just more of a "Oh yeah, hey hows it going?", I like to think I'm fairly social and chat with whomever really.
I had someone recognize me once from pictures that another friend posted on her own LJ and we realized later we had a mutual friend.

I don't really have any funny or weird stories, but one of my favorite moments was at the AC gathering at ANext, these Courtisan cosplayers kept loudly demanding to have a photo with the Leo cosplayers (not sure why) but when the guy in charge finally let them, I remember looking him right in the eye right as he give this look of wtf, and rolling his eyes and just loled.

Kind of a long story, but last con there was a pedo bear wandering around near a playground by the con. Moms were having their kids run up and take pictures with him. No one seemed to suspect that he was anything but a teddy bear. Best part was when someone told him that it was the funniest thing they'd seen all con and he replied "there's a convention?"

Some Asian chick cosplaying Lust had an obsession with "killing", which I would oblige her with the first few times, and then straddling me. It was fun until she did this ALL THE DAMN TIME. I ended up next to her in the line for the closing ceremonies, too.

Either scream "Medic" or ask my friend and I for a musical number depending on our cosplays.

Watching someone in a Mokona costume beat someone to death with my medigun during cosplay chess.

Either that or carrying the most muscular man-misty I've ever met around for the better part of a day. I may have turned gay right about then.

My friend dresses up as waldo and whenever anyone [everyone] spots him they get a piece of candy. He's been doing this for a while, so now when people spot them they start to demand candy. Not everyone does it, but it seems like each con that number grows.

Flame Swordsman/Celtic Guardian cosplayer from AnimeUSA. If anyone goes to AUSA, you've probably seen him. He tried creeping on my friend and I was seconds away from telling her off before said friend took the initiative.

Only the people I know recognize me, and when they see me, they are really happy. Like meeting old friends. :3

Two weeks into Kendo club one of my sempai was like "HEY I'M ALREADY FRIENDS WITH ONE OF YOU ON FB" and I was like "That's me" and she's like "Oh okay cool I friended you because my friends said you're a badass Keiji" and then it turned out her friends that told her to friend me were people I had made friends with at Fanime and the lot of us all cosplay Sengoku Basara.

Some guy at Kumoricon '11 stood next to me for a good ten minutes talking at me about Gundam and his waifus until he finally realized that I wasn't going to pay any attention to him.

Depends entirely on the costume. Sakuracon '11 at the seagull gathering I got a HEY YOU'RE BAD WOLF out of a couple people and I've had people scream and run at me as Ukitake. I take everything in stride though, shit's all cool.
