Saving up? Not spending all one's money whenever one sees something sparkly? What an astounding concept Dr. Asperger!

Didn't want much stuff when I was younger. If I did, I would avoid using my money as much as possible and ask my mother to pay for it.

I have a job and I sell things on eBay a lot, like old clothes, shoes etc.
Sometimes a good thing to do it go out to cheaper shops like Primark and pick up a few items that you know are going to explode in popularity soon (loose fits cable knit jumpers, anything sailor related, skater dresses, t-shirt/dresses/jumpers with odd prints such as horses/birds/rabbits) and buy a load of them.
I walked into Primark one day last year and saw this sailor dress being sold for £12 each. As soon as I saw them I knew that they would be sold fast so I picked up 5 pieces of the same dress and held onto them for 3 months. After the waiting period I stuck them up on eBay at £40 each and sold them all one after the other. People were clamouring for them because they were no longer in stock at their local Primark.

Oh I forgot to mention, always have a good scope around charity shops. The other day I found a vintage 1968 Vogue sewing pattern. complete with the original tag label. Purchased for 30p, sold for £27, sold for $42.

When you're out shopping for clothes to resell, keep in mind that your biggest market will be selling to hipster, lookbook fags. These are the kids that typically come from expensive London homes with rich mummies and daddies. Most of them have fashion blogs and they literally spend hours online everyday looking for quirky and interesting articles of clothing for their next co-ordinate, and they usually don't mind blowing upwards of £50 on a shitty bolero.

Image related, sold this H&M shirt on for £52 after they went out of stock in stores.. only wish I'd bought more.

    >> Anonymous 12/27/11(Tue)15:11 No.5284633
I have been granted a temporary retirement while I get my shit together.
There's just enough for rent, food and cosplay/small pleasures every month.

I have a job and keep myself on a budget. I take out $30 per paycheck [or $60/month] for blowing on anything nonessential like cosplay materials, entertainment, etc. For additional money to blow, I take commissions and sell off things on ebay but I do not take more than the $60 monthly for non-essentials.

The rest is used for bills and putting in the savings/checking accounts.

I work 2 jobs part time and take commissions for clothing and artwork. If I have a particular costume I'm working on, I budget myself and come up with how much I'd need to save every week for supplies.

Protip: Start saving for a costume at least 6 months prior to making it (depending on your income) or keep a certain amount of money saved on the side for supplies.

I steal stuff and resell it. Usually was food to survive, but now I steal 24/7 on anything I think i can profit from.

I turned my local walmart from a nice place, where things were in the open to locked up. Doesn't stop me though, I have the lock needed to get the stuff open (Type in Sensormatic Alpha S3 KEY youtube)

    YEAH :D

I save up what I get by selling things I do, like bracelets, shoelaces, etc. I will also start teaching next month.

    Depends on costume.

I commission elaborate stuff though and take out loans.

I'm not an idiot though, I give myself way too much time to pay it off, then pump money into it so I get good credit.

And I middleman shit at SDCC so that pays for half of it like right there most of the time.

Commuting to university, living with parents right now.
As long as I'm in school, they're fine with it.
They take care of housing and food expenses, my job covers everything else.

You're a terrible person, I hope you know that.

Most shoplifters have the decently to know what they're doing isn't cool and it's not awesome that you're the reason your wal-mart is no longer nice.
    >> Anonymous 12/27/11(Tue)17:31 No.5285028
I work part-time at a bakery. I also save a lot. I don't really buy that many clothes at all, and usually I just eat when I'm at work or at home. I also live at home with my family so I don't have to pay for rent or bills, so it's nice.

Make a guy fall in love with me, sleep with him, then rifle through his wallet and leave in the middle of the night. The love part is optional.
