I have carpel tunnel. The day I realized I needed to do something about it was when I couldn't move my wrist anymore.

There's a LOT of preventive things you can do. Go to Walgreens/CVS/whatever and get a sling. I have a nice one with a cushion on the palm to hold my wrist in the proper position when I type.

Here's some really great stretches that you should do EVERY DAY. http://www.eatonhand.com/hw/ctexercise.htm There's a lot more you can do too.

It's completely manageable, but once it passes that threshold, you're fucked. So take really good care of it now.

I've been to ALA before without ever having been on /cgl/ very much and I had plenty of fun. I didn't go out of my way to talk to people, I just went and cosplayed and then hung out with some friends.

I go on /cgl/ more regularly now but I still don't bother to try to befriend the tripfags here, I'm still anon, and I'm still sure I'll have a lot of fun at ALA this year again.
