christmas is just another day, my family doesn't celebrate it. spent the day cleaning for chinese new year, lots of dust unveiled while moving furniture around.
chinese new year is more awesome than christmas.

I got a new monitor, a shirt, a buncha games from my brother, monies, a toblerone, some jarritos and some cookies.

Little disappointed that I specifically asked my family for two things and they didn't get me them (despite getting tons of hints that they did) but honest, I don't care that much.

I got my mom a new laptop. She lives distantly from me, but near my younger sister. I had my sister's boyfriend set up logmein remote desktop for me, then I set the computer up for my mom with anti-virus and protective stuff. I also found a program that downloads all the tagged pictures of a person from facebook so I got all the nice pictures of my sister and me and my mom and other family members, save them and set her screen saver to cycle through them.

Set up skype and put the settings so that when you close the lid, it doesn't go into sleep mode. We made a skype call, then the boyfriend wrapped it up with the call still going and brought it down to my mom.

She unwrapped it and we got to see her face when she saw it (she told us she thought it was "a really warm cookbook" at first lol). She started crying and it was cute.

A few hours later (still on skype) my sister's boyfriend hands her the last present (it was really small and she didn't see it under the tree). She opens it up and! It was a ring! My sister got engaged!

So overall I had a nice christmas eve. Today we get to go to my fiance's family and deal with their bullshit drama. I guess I'm lucky, even though I don't usually get along with my sister our drama isn't that intense (we're both just very different, we only get along when we go shopping together.)

This year was a bit small but I'm not complaining, my parents bought my plane ticket to meet Leonard Nimoy back in October. I met two Spock actors this year, and that's A-OK in my book.
