12/16/11(Fri)11:43 No.5252619Although I think my con routines start long before the event (planning stage), it generally goes like this:
Out of town cons: >Shit's all packed up during the week >Wake up super early >Wear most of cosplay or lolita until I get there (depends on what I cosplay as/length of con weekend)* >Get con-buddy >Get there - fight for a parking space >Pick up badge/sign in (I usually register ahead of time) >Wander around the dealer's room/artist alley >Momentarily leave to sign in at hotel and drop off my stuff there >Attend panels already planned on attending >Fuck the "rave" - go to late night panels, check room parties, and/or hit the town.
Of
course, whether it's a small, local con or a huge one, I'm always
taking photos, but I don't generally visit the cosplay meets (I just run
into them). When there aren't any panels/events I want to check out,
I'm usually getting something to eat or visiting the dealer's
hall/artist alley. I tend to avoid spending money on souvenirs until
Sunday. *For big cons (3-4 days), I tend to wear "normal" clothes on the
first day(s), cosplay on the busiest day (usually Saturday), and wear
lolita on the last day. I also like checking out the local area for
restaurants I have yet to try. As much as I like cons, I really can't
stand being in the same vicinity too long, especially when it's in an
area I've never been to. |
