Gumi is an independent creature on its own. At one point they tried getting seagulls to back them up in a coscom thread basically pointing out how brigade members can state their opinion but when someone disagrees they all try to dump on that person (which is true in a fashion)... unfortunately they were horribly worded posts and no one here was retarded enough to jump in, we know when to steer clear of a shitstorm

Can agree with that, but at least here you know what to expect and know no one will baby or sugar-coat something if you need legit feedback. Generally yes. It's supposed to be a world of butterflies and unicorns shitting rainbows.

But I also think it depends. If someone is blatantly breaking a rule or all out being retarded, they usually lock the thread like that girl who shopped her Homestuck costume, submitted it to a cosplay group on DA, and wanted opinions on whether people thought it was fair of the group to reject her shitty pic. That got locked but it took a while.

Sometimes even Proud Asian gets to wreak some havoc for a few hours, perhaps days before his 500000th account gets deleted.

But yea, they usually let people do a certain amount of bitching and moaning but if it's directed at someone they tend to move a little quicker.

The average coscom user has not visited cgl and maybe not even 4chan but they have "heard" about it.

I first came to this board because a friend said my pics had been posted in a thread for one of the cons I attend. I was totally expecting the worst, given the supposed track record of cgl: crushing self-esteem, calling everyone no matter their size fatass, calling everyone ugly no matter how they look, having a million nitpicks on costumes that are professional quality... etc. But curiosity got me and I went to see what was going on. The people in the thread were not only making kind comments about my costumes but a number of them started watching me on DA. This was a handful of years ago - I believed what people said about 4chan being the devil's playground etc, but it's not that bad.
