while I can understand where you're coming from by bringing up all the
other sexified versions of the pony gijinkas: I am not the biggest fan
of those either, and it really has nothing to do with them looking cute
or sexy to me. A lot of the time, those cosplayers are both. On the
other hand. When I look at a gijinka, especially ones like MLP that have
defined characters with defined personalities, I ask myself: Would they
wear this if they genuinely were human? Why or why not? And to me,
girls I know that are a lot like Fluttershy and still in high school
don't wear tops like that. If they are doing it specifically to attract
the show's male fan base, like myself, that's fine. The same thing goes
if they want to dress up and look great. It's just that that won't make
it accurate. Regarding Applejack in Daisy Dukes, there was a thread about that. Nobody seemed too enthusiastic about the idea. |
