  Having
a hotel room for whatever con you are going to is crazy convenient, no
driving when you are tiered, rest whenever you want to, no having to
leave early so you can make it back home in time to sleep, if you are a
drinker then no having to pay for transportation. Then there are the
awesome bonding opportunities with your friends! Overall it is a good
situation.
if you don't have friends to share, having a hotel
room to your self is amazing, and if you can afford it, it is so worth
it. You don't have to worry about what time you make it back, or if your
friends brought back weirdos to the room, or if you decide to bring
back weirdos to hang with there is no one to complain! I have only been
able to afford a hotel room to myself once, ever sense then I have never
been able to get away from family and friends for a weekend and even if
I REALLY wanted to I couldn't afford it...
Speaking of being able to afford it, oh ALA, you so silly!
this would be the third year in a row that my hotel peeps have dropped out on me. THIS TIME though I was smart and have not bought my airline tickets yet!
  Three
times I have relied on those guys, twice I have been fucked, but not
his year! This year I knew that I only had a few friends to rely on to
split hotel costs and that they have been flaky in the past. This year I
demanded to know at least a month ahead of time if they were %100
going, and this year I did not risk a plane ticket on their asses.
  Sure
they only told me just now that they had to back out, but frankly, I
did not trust them to meet my deadline in the first place. I knew that I
wouldn't be going this year either....

god damn am I bitter. |
