How the F* did GLW get 60,000 Facebook fans?
    >> Anonymous 12/06/11(Tue)20:33 No.5218152
At least 1000 are trolls watching for the stupid shit GLW does.... but holy shit. That many stupid lolis? That's funny.
    >> Anonymous 12/06/11(Tue)20:33 No.5218155
How?! Arda struggled to get 4,000 and their wigs are a lot better in quality and price!
    >> Anonymous 12/06/11(Tue)20:36 No.5218173
Itas. If you ever scroll through their customer gallery its literally filled with them.

It's because GLW advertises better, has better pictures of their wigs, lets literally anybody who buys their wigs model for them (for free btw), and generally their wigs tend to appeal to more people even -outside- the cosplay/lolita community. Especially when you consider their split and rock star wigs collections.
I've honestly never had a bad experience with them. If their wigs get a bit snarly then I fix it. If I find the same wig for cheaper on eBay, I'll get it. I don't treat it like a big deal.
    >inb4 hurr anon don't say your good experience with them because other people have had worse

Every time I try to point out how much they suck I get snotty, know it all remarks from people.

What happened to JellyCandies, if that was the right name (I know it was Jelly something)? Did that store ever get set up?
    >> Anonymous 12/06/11(Tue)20:39 No.5218190
they keep the page very entertaining and geared towards their loli customer base
    >> Anonymous 12/06/11(Tue)20:40 No.5218200
They're a step up from party wigs but as expensive as higher quality wigs. The mark up on them is just ridiculous.

    >> Anonymous 12/06/11(Tue)20:43 No.5218213
I know it's cosplay-oriented, but I prefer Epiccosplay. The shipping's fast and the wigs are really nice.

And of course there's using your own hair. Unfortunately not a lot of people know how to style it properly, resulting in really dead looking hair.
    >> Anonymous 12/06/11(Tue)20:45 No.5218223
I love how everytime there is a GLW bashing party on here, Arda and jelly candie "anononymously" drop their names. It'll be a matter of minutes before Chokalate goes trying to get attention for herself.

    wat

Not name dropping, I'm not affiliated with jellycandy at all, I was just reminded because I saw the original thread where the girl who set it up showed that GLW's wigs are actually worth about $15. She was going to sell them for a wayyy smaller markup and I was excite but I don't know what became of her :c

    >>5218223
jelly candies hasn't been mentioned for quite a while, and honestly they've dropped off the face of the planet so it's pointless for them to drop their own name (plus it was Anonymouse that mentioned it, not a random anon) and I mentioned arda because I'm genuinely surprised they struggled to get 4,000 fans when they're a popular company within the cosplay community.

Arda is always promoting themselves on /cgl/. When someone has criticism about their wigs on one of their threads you suddenly see walls of snarky, intrusive text saying why their quality is just king shit. Honestly, their service isn't bad but they really strike me as an abrasive group trying too hard to make it. Kind of why I don't like them.

Also how come every time a GLW thread comes up, someone always starts jumping up and down about how other companies are trying to advertise their own wigs? Maybe if GLW was a better company people wouldn't have all these horror stories.

I kind of like that about that. they're proud and truly stand behind their work. They're wigs would be perfect imo if they were softer less coarse but that's probably a far off request.
GLW just seems very "Okay you like it? Shut up now, we're the best you have nothing else to say."
Arda has problems yes, shipping delays and small mixups, but they take responsibility for it.
    GLW on the other hand...:
Also (I'm guilty for buying from GLW I'll admit it.) If you try leave feedback on their storepage, it has to be approved by them so most reviews probably haven't been left because they feel it isn't kiss assy enough.

    >> Anonymous 12/06/11(Tue)21:48 No.5218494
We were all itas at one time. Being a good loli is not easy and can be very expensive. A lot of girls get called ita with no cause. Some even for wearing Bodyline. I almost wish that term would go away because it makes so many girls less fortunate than the brand whores feel like garbage.
    >> Anonymous 12/06/11(Tue)22:19 No.5218582
Arda may be better quality than GLW (I don't actually know, I've never seen an Arda wig in person), but I'd rather buy from GLW simply because all of Arda's loliable-styled wigs only come in really fugly color combinations. GLW has some ugly color combos in their collection, too, but at least they have a few nice ones to balance it out. I've only seen one or two of Arda's wigs that would look anything other than completely ita in a lolita coordinate.

You girls make it sound like coming up with good designs is a cinch. It's not that easy to come up with tasteful designs that appeal to a very finicky clientele. Arda's specialty is moldable base wigs. Cosplayer designer + lolita wigs = ita.

You mean the same base+pigtail combo and tacky color combos they shit out?
    >finicky clientele
Whenever anyone is the least bit "finicky" they get ignored and then attacked by the fans. GLW only wants praise so a lot of their customers are ignorant about wig quality.

I mean... maybe I should trip in them more often so that it doesn't look like I'm anonymously whiteknighting myself over and over. Give it more variety right?

    >>5218668
We aren't lolita's at Arda, so when we saw people liked the split wigs we just got what colors we liked and hoped people would suggest new ones. We're slowly talking to more lolita's at cons to get a better idea of what they want. We're actually trying really hard right now to make a minty green color in our fibers because everyone has told us they would like to see it.
