I threw this together on a whim from pieces of other cosplays, I broke the headband, and I don't even really like Rumia all that much, so there's really no point in wearing it again.

Plus I was so sick that day and I didn't even realize it, oh my god. I look even more busted than usual.

Tinker Bell. I love the dress, the wig and I made moving wings and I was so proud. But every time I get a picture back from it, I hate myself. I'm usually super confident about how I look but there's something about this costume that just makes me feel ugly as hell. I was starting to feel ok about it and I just got another set of photos back a few months after the con and good lord. Going to go crawl in hole and never come out.

So after reading this I've started to wonder-
What costume would you never part with under any circumstances?
The costume you love so much that you would adjust it so it always fit and every so often put on and run around the house in because it makes you proud/giddy/excited/ etc?

I just get a little tired of everyone assuming I'm a guy. I'm working on getting better at makeup, but there's really not much I can do about the way my face bones are put together. It gets kind of old.

Italy from Hetalia. I got into the fandom early one and then watched it turn into something I didn't enjoy. I normally don't let the fandom ruin stuff for me but it wasn't fun any more.

You know, that's a tough question. I'm really fond of my Hellcat and Atom Eve costumes because I had both of them signed by Stuart & Kathryn Immonen (Hellcat) and Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley (Atom Eve), so I don't think I'll ever get rid of those two. I don't know if I really have an absolute favorite costume per se, though.

I'm not comfortable caking the makeup on as thick as I'd need to in order to pass for 'cute' & I'm 25 & can admit I no longer look under 18... I must no longer kid myself & try to pull of something that doesn't suit me, regardless of how much I like it, if I'm not going to commit. I was a pretty terrible schoolgirl this year... I didn't put on anything other than mascara & walked around Otakon not giving a fuck.

I'm also NEVER wearing my Edward Elric in public again, for the simple reason that I prefer to not be touched without permission and I prefer to stand in a vertical position. A lot of people seem to have problems with this, and think it's a good idea to tackle me from behind and attempt to knock me into a horizontal position. Please, people, please don't do that. I'm not even that good of an Ed.

The "worst" I ever got was anytime I wear a silver wig I get "So you're Storm right?" makes me lol and I just say "sure" sometimes.

Captain Hammer. I had a friend being Dr. Horrible at the same time. It was pretty enjoyable, but it's the most maddening thing I've ever had to do.

1.) "yaoi" requests. Every goddamn five minutes, someone wanted us to kiss.

2.) Singing. God damn.

Default Miku. I put loads of time and effort into making it as well as I could, but it gets utterly ignored because there's always 23849 other Mikus and everyone is sick of it.

That wouldn't be so bad if the other Mikus I would run into during the day were friendlier. Not that I've never met any nice ones or anything, but Miku cosplay seems to be weirdly competitive? I guess I'm kind of guilty of it too, which is just another reason that costume is bad for me.

I might do another photoshoot with it, but never again at a con. Unless Vocaloid's popularity suddenly plummets (unlikely).

Hunny from Ouran. My first real cosplay and I had to be special snowflake and do the Jungle Pool SOS swimsuit version despite being a girl and being 5'5". Got sunburn on my shoulders/back, blisters from my flipflops, and had a staffer freak out and run at me thinking I was walking around topless because I was wearing a skin colored top over my chest binding. And the crazy fangirls were scary too... So yeah, glad to be rid of that costume for good.

Wataru from Brave Story (movie version). I wasn't a 10-year-old boy five years ago, I sure as hell am not now. My armor looked like I was wearing half a barrel.

Jacuzzi, for sure. It's not in good condition and it's not well made, but it gives me this very strange sense of protection when I wear it. I wear bits of a lot of my costume though… I wear my Accelerator shirts a lot because they make me feel badass and powerful, like I could conquer the world.

Axel from Kingdom Hearts 2. It's always been my "I need a fast costume" cosplay... made it the year KH2 came out, I've worn it for so many skits... and I'm just really not a fan of the series or fanbase anymore.

Picture is the first time I wore it... like three wigs and two sets of chakrams ago.

Saix. Astronomical levels of boredom. All I did was stare at people with a neutral expression on my face. Occasionally I would see a Axel and comment "traitor" while glaring at him, but that's about as interesting as it got. The only reason I cosplayed him was because some of my friends were doing a KH group and I wanted to help out. Saix was really the only one left who fit my body type. Yet, despite repeated text and phone calls, the group managed to disappear at the convention and decided not to tell me where they were doing the KH photoshoot. And along with that, the friend of mine in the group, who I was supposed to be staying with that night, left the con without telling me. I was not pleased. The *only* positive thing that happened was multiple people coming up to me for pictures and hugs telling me that Saix is their favorite character and how excited they were to see someone cosplaying him. Which was pretty cool and I'm glad I could make them happy. Still never going to do that again though. I'll be sticking to more hyper characters that I can have fun with and reserve my own room for now on.
