  • We are still working on some of the outstanding CloudFlare issues. We are aware of an issue affecting IE users where all images are saved as BMP and are working on a fix. We will also be sending proper Last-Modified headers on HTML starting early next week (works on our end, waiting on a fix from CDN). And still tracking down the issues with posting/accessing sys.4chan.org.

I've gotten a few e-mails from Australian users about difficulty resolving 4chan DNS and accessing the site. If you are affected, please e-mail moot@4chan.org with more specifics like your ISP, and what the 4chan subdomains are resolving to (run "nslookup boards.4chan.org" and "nslookup www.4chan.org" from command prompt/terminal).

    Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

Nobody knows? Pretty much. The plot is that these kids have been left alone by their mother, as she goes and lives with another man. Honestly, I cried. The kid actors in it nailed it, and I even think the lead boy won an award for his role. This movie is on my christmas list actually.

Fuck, Nobody Knows is such a horribly sad movie. I got the soundtrack and it always make me cry ;(

Are you talking "Grave of Fireflies" sad or worse than that?

I've been tempted to watch Nobody Knows, but despite being male, I can't handle sad shit. I'll cry like a fool.

I haven't seen that movie, so I'm not exactly sure. It just depends on what gets to you. My friend didn't shed a tear during 'Nobody Knows', but cried a waterfall during 'The notebook'. Something about those poor kids, and the ending just.....everytime get's to me. It's the kids, I hate seeing that kind of thing happened so, it's whatever does it for you.

Oh god. When I first found out this movie was based on a true story *Lifetime anyone* I had to look it up. Still can't believe the mother regain custody of her two daughters.

It's worth it but it's kinda slow. I think you should watch it in its native language for the full impact.

Anon from >>5180765, Grave of Fireflies is pretty powerful in my opinion. There are of course points at which you want to slap some of the characters around but in stark contrast, the film's plot and ending are pretty deep, especially when you think about historical context.

There's a certain genre of "feel bad" movies that Japanese directors are particularly good at.

Oh some girl is walking down the street?
She almost gets hit by a charming guy on a bike.
    They become friends.
    Then she gets cancer.
Oh wait, now his mom gets killed in a car accident.
And his dad kills himself out of grief.
Shot of kid crying next to girlfriend's death bed.
    Credits roll.

It's way too art house and girly in here... I can't be the only seagull that loves retarded awesome action movies.
    My recommendation: HARD TARGET
This one is kind of a slow starter, but the last half of the movie is fan-freaking-tastic. John Woo's first state side film (yes, there are slow motion doves AND pidgeons) and one of Van Damme's best, if not the best, over the top action movies ever. Pic related: Wilford Brimley riding on a horse away from an explosion he just caused with a bow and arrow. Yes, that totally happens in this movie.

Gene Generation. I'm a huge Bai Ling fan, and I loved this movie after it was recommended on my Netflix. Try to count how many outfits she has. (A new one every time she leaves her apartment, walks into her apartment, or goes to kill someone.) They're all awesome. Very cool if you like the post-apocalyptic/grim future type movies.

The acting/story with the other characters can be a bit awkward at times, but its easy to overlook.
