  • We are still working on some of the outstanding CloudFlare issues. We are aware of an issue affecting IE users where all images are saved as BMP and are working on a fix. We will also be sending proper Last-Modified headers on HTML starting early next week (works on our end, waiting on a fix from CDN). And still tracking down the issues with posting/accessing sys.4chan.org.

I've gotten a few e-mails from Australian users about difficulty resolving 4chan DNS and accessing the site. If you are affected, please e-mail moot@4chan.org with more specifics like your ISP, and what the 4chan subdomains are resolving to (run "nslookup boards.4chan.org" and "nslookup www.4chan.org" from command prompt/terminal).

    Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey, /cgl/. I'm looking for a pre-made America cosplay since I can't be assed to work with a commisioner. I'm really picky though, and I'm looking for something accurate.

The biggest issues I'm running into is with the bomber jackets star/plane/50 either looking plain wrong, or are missing from the jacket completely.

The second thing that irks me is that I can't find one with the undercoat that is the proper length. It's supposed to go down to about crotch area and have two big pockets.

    General pre-made cosplay search thread.

The closest things I like are from these shops: http://www.yourcosplay.com/cosplay-axis-power-hetalia-american-military-uniform-cosplay-costume-p148
    2.html

    http://www.cosplayhouse.com/Hetalia-Axis-Powers-American-Cosplay-Costume-Version-02.html?gdftrk=gdfV
    22132_a_7c516_a_7c3854_a_7cACH1535

And correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't those two the exact same outfit? I'm nervous about ordering from either if someone is image stealing.

Alright, you've already dug yourself in a deep shithole by disagreeing with /cgl/ here but as a fellow Hetalian I feel obligated to help you.

    http://cosplaysky.com/axis-powers-hetalia-america-cosplay-uniform-costume.html

I've ordered the one I use from there. The costumes I've bought from here are exceptionally well-made and feel and look very authentic. The 'bomber jacket' however is shit, when you get the cosplay, throw that shit away.

Go to thrift stores, OP. Any thrift store nearby. You'll find one eventually. When you do, do your research (or, if you MUST, ask a friend to help you) and sew the symbols on it very very carefully.

    Best of luck.

buy a simple bomber jacket, and you can add the rest on yourself really easy, you can by the patches for the star, and whatever method you chose for the rest (cut then sew on by hand or otherwise, or paint it)

not that hard, and will look a hell of a lot better than what you could buy if your not going to commission.

Just buy a normal bomber jacket and add the extra parts onto it, it'll work out so much cheaper and it's really not that much effort.

Also stop trying to argue with Smoker, it just...It just doesn't work like that.
    >> Anonymous 11/25/11(Fri)03:37 No.5178384
Since this a general thread, how about cosplay fu? Reviews on coscom aren't bad, but then again, you got people on there who think Milanoo is the best thing ever.
    >> Anonymous 11/25/11(Fri)04:01 No.5178419
I have a very good looking commissioned America cosplay here ... I'd be willing to sell it, I only tried it on one. What's your height and size? Would a european S fit you?

I've had good experiences with Cosplay Fu. Prompt shipping, cheap, customer service was nice. Bought a Miku wig from them for a friend, didn't get too close of a look of it but worn it looked good.

I really like Cosplayfu! I've had a few things from there- both costumes and wigs- and I loved them. I'm buying two more when my wage comes in, too!

However, DON'T BUY PROPS. I got one and it was the shittiest thing I've seen.

I looked at measurment charts and I'm assuming you mean a 36 or a 38? Could I see photos?

    It looks like I'd be around a 40, and I'm 5'7. I could have it tailored though, couldn't I?

What a coincidence OP, I'll be doing an America cosplay in January.
I really didn't want to get a costume if I could find a real military uniform, so on the advice of another America cosplayer I decided I would go with this http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/new-belgian-military-summer-dress-uniform-khaki.aspx?a=868486.

Feel bad asking, but since this thread is up and it is hetalia related, where can I find a proper red army overcoat like Russia's? I've been searching abit, and to weary on what to look for, would I just go for a regular overcoat pattern, and just modify it to what I need? Or would there be an actual one close to what he wears?
    >> Anonymous 11/25/11(Fri)13:23 No.5179191
    >>5179056
Oh gosh, I wish I did know somewhere you could find a red army overcoat, or even a basic coat that could be modified, but I found mine in a secondhand shop :c As far as modifiable patterns go, may I suggest this one? http://www.simplicity.com/p-1539-misses-men-costumes.aspx I was originally going to use this myself actually.

asdfa, thank you! Now I can't wait till christmas lol

Also, I did find this site, but I'm not entirely sure which would work. http://www.frontofrussia.com/army.html
    >> Anonymous 11/25/11(Fri)13:30 No.5179218
OP I hate to break it to you, but if you are really anal about accuracy the only way to get it is to make your own costume. (I wouldn't even trust a commissioner honestly.) Altering can work to a degree, but things with pockets can pose a problem because you don't have extra material to make into pockets. Good luck!

Out of all of them I think Listing 104A on page 3 would be the best; but honestly that's just my opinion.

    >>5179229
Awesome, I'll start messing around, with both the pattern and probably the listing as well.
