Are there any dark skinned magical girls? I would really like to cosplay one, but it just would feel or look right to cosplay a light skinned girl. Would it be a bad idea to do like a negative verison of a character? (ooposite colors)I don't know, I just wanna make and wear something white, pretty and frilly for a cosplay.
>>5171289You are a gentleman and a scholar.Sauce please for reasearch on the rest of her outfit?
>>5171297It's from a Korean online card game called "sword girls"http://swordgirlsonline.com/
>>5171299Oh shit. I've been seeing some swordgirl stuff on danbooru and payed no attention to it. Thanks again.
Sailor Pluto?
After some reachsearch, she's not dark skinned at all. Daaamniiit. Thanks still for trying.
There's Anthy from Utena. Not your typical magical girl, no, but is dark and uses magic.
>>5171321But then if you really want to do a traditional magical girl, don't let anything stop you. Skin tone didn't stop this Sailor Venus.
>>5171321>>5171317Thanks but I hate to say that these are so overdone. There's blueberry from No More Heroes but 1. shoes way too much skin for me2. not in a dress/skirt ;_;
>>5171324>shoeswtf, shows
>>5171324Well hell, your selection is pretty slim. There are plenty of "brown girls who happen to have magical item"(pic related) or "brown girls who happen to do magic," but very few traditional magical girls that are brown.
>>5171327Or, I just remembered there's Glenda from Petite Princess Yucie who looks more the typical magical girl and is brown. Um, I haven't seen the show so I can't say too much about it.
There's Angel Daisy from Wedding Peach (green hair) but she's more tan than dark.
>>5171327It looks like you're right, (I've been searching the dark_skinned tag on danbooru) but the reason I say magical girl is because I basically wanted to make and wear something pretty and frilly for a cosplay. Perferably mostly white because I have plenty of white fabric left over from another cosplay. ...If a I did "magical girl" verison of a character, or bride, or frilled-up character would that be too much away from the character? pic somewhat related.
>>5171336Probably not, but you'd be far better off doing it in tandem with at least one other person following your theme.
>>5171332Oh, that's a good one. She has boobs too so I would have to bind for a loli character. May still need a corset for a smoother frame of course.
>>5171336If that's an official image, you can just say you cosplay from that. Plenty of people cosplay outfits from promo images.
You know, you could always go with one that has a palette swap. For example, The Disgaea female mage. While they may not necessarily have dark skin. However, they have multiple color palettes and staffs that can be complimented with darker or lighter skin.
>>5171336Hallibel's pretty dark with a rather white costume. Not too much on the frills though.
>>5171344Damn it, captcha ate my image.
Meredy from Tales of Eternia. I never played the game / saw the anime but she looks like a magic user at least.
If you don't mind going Disney, Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre Dame uses a bit of white and it wouldn't be out of place to add some subtle frilly bits.
>>5171344Halibel is far too much a stretch from cute magical girl...
>>5171340I honestly think it's fanart, but I would if I had a whole group heh.>>5171341I'm iffy on these simply because I don't know if people would get it. But I did see that one cosplay of a reverse Princess Usagi/Serena/Bunny that was done pretty well. It's still an option of course.>>5171346I'm sorry, not a fan of the big 3. >>5171348Oh dude, yes please! Especially that lace on the end. And dat hair...hhnng. It'll be fun to fluff it out. I'm going with this. Going to do more research and look up tutorials on how to make lace. Thanks everyone, you guys are awesome.
A "negative" version would work better if you have a "positive" whose build is close to yours. I would very much be interested to see that.
Different topic;Do you think this could be pulled off right without being a small person? And dem granny panties...oh my.
>>5171363You don't even have to do a "reverse" anything. Many characters with multiple classes can be cosplayed by people of any skin type. Also, why not games like Ragnarok online or any of those that have characters who fit into the type? Games like those are suppose to give you customization capabilities. Think characters like the Acolyte and Arc Bishop.
>>5171364That would be fun. I actually have a friend who's the same height and size as me and pale skinned...shit, I should bug her about it. Don't know if she would go for it though now, maybe next year.
