I like when the costumes are done really well like those, but the cartoon ones creep me out at times.

As a cosplayer, I feel you kind of have to admire furries.
Those fursuits are massive and expensive and probably sweltering.

As people, I don't really care for them. Some of them are nice, some are creepy as fuck, but us cosplayers have our share of people like that too.

As a costume it's fine.

As a "fetish lifestyle" it's fucking absurd the way they treat it. You don't see piss people peeing all over eachother in public and telling people that are disgusted that they need to be "more tolerant" of their "alternative lifestyle" same goes for age play people, foot people, shit people, and whatever other fetishes people might have.

The only difference is, they keep it to themselves. That's why nobody bothers them quite as much. Yet the furries go out and rub their fetish in everybody's faces. The furries I've met at cons are always really nice, and funny. They kind of just act like Disney characters to me--no different than someone in a Mickey Mouse costume.

As for the fetish, I hear a lot about disgusting furries and furries shoving their fetish in people's faces but I've never encountered a furry like that. They keep it to themselves, and if those I become good friends with, are always super embarrassed to tell me. But that's just my personal experiences.

I'll be honest. I do not like furries as a whole. I have know two furries in my life that weren't the creepy fursuit obsessed individuals that the community is known for. I understand every community has it's extremists and radicals, but for the furry fandom, it's obnoxious as they're everywhere.

While I appreciate the fact that some fursuiters and fuirsuit designers have made some ingenious creations and inventions, the furry community as a whole tarnishes their image.

I'm also laughing at the fact that in the future I'm cosplaying Captain Komamura from Bleach. I'll need to commission a fursuit designer who creates incredibly realistic suits for a good pair of arms and head to achieve this. Why this makes me laugh, is that I'll probably be labeled a furry for wearing a cosplay of one of my favorite characters and doing him justice.

Anyway, tl;dr; Furry cosplay is odd because of the community, but it does have its uses for certain things.

A lot of people take wearing a costume in a "Method acting" sense, and I think a lot of people get the wrong idea about that. I don't really see anything wrong with people using costumes as a way to express themselves in ways they normally couldn't. I barely even cosplay myself, but is it weird that I don't find that sorta thing creepy?

Also I don't mind furries. I don't like obnoxious nerds or teenagers in any fandom, this includes the furries, anime, cartoons, etc. Heck, our weeaboo horror stories should be enough to show that theres retards everywhere. Furry is a weird and highly inclusive hobby so it attracts weird people.

I hate furries, I really do. So I was on the fence for years about doing that kind of cosplay. But I got over that shit. Went ahead and cosplayed Blaziken. And nobody gave me flack.
