Let's play, /cgl/!Let's pretend you are suddenly tied up and blind folded, then taken to the biggest fucking mall in the world and given a stack of $50's worth about $2,000 and told that you MUST spend it. You cannot keep the money, nor can you give it away or spend it on others. You will not have to pay them back for the money. It's totally free. Where do you go first? What stores would you hit up? Show me pictures of what you would buy! Go wild!
Shoes.
EVERYTHING FROM URBAN OUTFITTERS EVER. It's so expensive so I can never afford it, but I love their clothes! Oh, and tons of heels. I like being taller. I would also buy out Sephora of their entire tokidoki line ♡ And lots and lots of candy~
Computer hardware and gadgets, every single cent of it in computer hardware and gadgets.
AUUGHHH THE DRESSESSO MANY FUCKING DRESSESAND LIKE SOME ROCK CANDYI FUCKING LOVE ROCK CANDY
>>5150802>I would also buy out Sephora of their entire tokidoki line ♡ hellz yeah!
Urban outfitters, everything that looks awesome on the sale rack, then everything else. Save $200 for game stop. By 3DS and Skyrim. The End.
this
I would seek out the sony store assuming they had one, or alternately whatever electronics/computer/audio store they had.
SOCKS AND CLEARANCE FROM URBAN OUTFITTERS AHHHHAlso, raid Gamestop.
american apparel and urban outfitters for the bulk of my clothes + qt shoes, h&m for trend pieces, j crew for really nice classics, and finally nordstrom and sephora for makeup. i would run out of money so quickly.
>>5150806I know right~ ♥
Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor... Mostly handbags and shoes, a nice coat, sweaters, maybe some costume jewelry and small accessories. Honestly, $2000 wouldn't go all that far, at most 5 or 6 nice items.
>>5150836>Honestly, $2000 wouldn't go all that far,What the fuck?
>>5150836willig to agree with that. I was a privileged little girl growing up and got to go shopping at Nordstroms for clothes before the school year started. We could drop 500 to 1000 on jeans, shirts, blouses, easy. Walk away with 10-20 smallish items that were probably about $20-$50 a piece. Nice coats can cost hundreds, as can shoes. $2000 for clothes wouldnt go that far. Now $2000 at the game stop... that's another story all together.
>>5150847holy shiti haven't been clothes shopping anywhere but goodwill in the past 2 years
>>5150852I know, right? I spent $60 on a new purse and thought that was one hell of a splurge. Silver spoon people make me sad and jealous.
That would be amazing.
for a minute, i thought you were asking us to shop blind folded. herpin my derp.sephora would take a hit, and so would urban outfitters. that's really all i shop at in most malls.>>5150806YESSSSSSSS
>>5150852now see Ive never actually been inside a goodwill. Which is strange since I've stopped shopping at places like the mall for the most part and stick to thrift stores (Red Light for you Portlanders.) Though I do still buy new/nice things from the mall every now and again. Usually things like a good quality winter coat, or a dress for a party.
>>5150856last thing i spent any big amount of money on was .. probably a dress for a dance in highschool, and even then it was from ross. so about $25, about 3 years ago. i am poor.
Does this mall have a BTSSB, Angelic Pretty, or any other good burando store? Also Uniqlo?
>>5150847Especially if you live in California, 2k will be gone within the week. Lol.
I'd be a bore, I'm dreaming of a great basics wardrobe, lots of white shirts, some lovely skirt suits with pen-skirts, lovely light coloured t-shirts and maybe some scarves in bold patterns, o Hermés scarves how I dream of ye..
BETSEY JOHNSON, if its a high end mall that is that big, they should. if not SHOOOOES.>SHOOOOOOOOOOOOES.
yesstyle everything.I don't even care.
>>5150862But you're still pretty young, hun. You're JUST NOW starting to get onto your feet. This won't last. Trust me. I'm not trying to talk down to you like I'm some older wiser hag, but trust me when I say that these rough penny-pinching days DO end. It's fun when it does, too. You'll get yourself a real job and start saving up and slowly your quality of life will also rise. I encourage you to not snob thrift stores when it does, though. Thrift stores are a wise place to FIRST look for something, then if you can't find it - go retail. Good luck, little mama! :D
BLOUSES. SO MANY BLOUSES.Every loliable blouse I came across was too expensive. /poorfags gonna poor
>>5150862>>5150856not quiet all it's cracked up to be. My parents were well off, not me. I'm on my own now and had a looovely time getting over spending issues and learning the "money dont grow on trees" deal. And I'll tell you this much, nice jeans arent worth it. Every designer pair of jeans I owned, ripped within the first week. In fact I just got a pair for my birthday, ripped first day of wearing them. And not because they were too small. I was sliding off my bed once and they ripped straight across the knee when I bent my leg. Nothing else, just bending my leg ripped em. I dont buy "designer" jeans anymore. (I'll only own a pair if their a present from some one) I will however drop good money on a coat. Nothing is nicer than a quality winter coat when the weather hits hard. But yeah a lot of designer and expensive clothing items are like Lolita dress's. You pay for the brand name, not necessarily for the quality.
>>5150881>And I'll tell you this much, nice jeans arent worth it. That's interesting to know. I've always been told that splurging on a good pair of designer jeans is worth it, because they'll last you forever. Very very interesting...
>>5150881except for joes jeans. they're the holy grail of jeans. i lurk marshalls for ~$30 pairs
>>5150881i've only got one pair of jeans, so i wouldn't care for brand, just target jeans that fit well, haha. but i can't even afford those. sadface. and though i do live in texas, i don't even own one jacket. and it's going down to 60 degrees, cold to a texan! haha, i'm screwed.
>>5150885I suppose it spends the brands. I'm talking girl jeans to be specific. The fabric tends to be thinner, so their super duper comfortable, and look steller. But because of said thin fabric, they shred easily. And it's true your not supposed to wash them often so you avoid staining them.If you buy a nice pair in quality however thats more durable and cut to look good to boot I'd say thats a worthy buy. But from my experience, jeans cut for woman/girls that are designer are not meant to be durable. Their meant to look nice.
>>5150881>designer pair of jeansLike what brand?
>>5150881>designerwhat brands, anon? i've never experienced anything like what you're talking about so at least make your comment more helpful
>>5150900>>5150901just a minute let me look into my old teen jeans. The ones I got almost all came from nordstrums. I know one was Hudson was one brand I used to be bought a lot of though.
>>5150906>teen jeanswell there's your problem
>>5150908I wore em as a teen anon, doesnt mean they were made just for teens. And the Hudsons are the only ones I still own, I threw out the rest of the ones that ripped. Sorry. I may be having horrid luck with jeans, but dropping $200 dollars on a pair to have them rip the same day or next day I bought them really does not qualify as a good designer buy to me.
I'd agree about the jeans, when I did my internship at a tailors he told me that the worst kinds of jeans were the brand name ones, a lot of them were already worn when they were sold and ripped within weeks or maybe a few months of the purchase and he had to try to fix them. However he was deeply impressed with my uniqlo jeans which looked new even after 6 months.
2,000 $1 shirts
All the games I've been wanting, a PS3, lots and lots of makeup, and a fucking nice dress.
>>5150913>i threw out the rest that ripped>i threw out the rest>threw outThe fuck is wrong with you?If you're going to spend hundreds on pairs of jeans, at least keep them for toss around jeans if not donate them. That's fucking wasteful.
>>5150931I did donate them, as I do with almost all clothes I'm done with. Sorry wrong choice of words there.
>>5150937Got me going for a second there.
go to the top floor and toss it.
I'd try to get my hands on some MCQUEEN merchandise. Or givenchy, miu miu, moschino, anna sui, chanel etc.Anna Sui's makeup is allso hnnng.
>>5150957I forgot. This. All of this.
>>5150957Aww yeah, anna sui makeup <3 Only foundation I've found that's light enough for me. Love it <3
>>5150957>budget: $2000
1) Fabric store2) Juicy couture3) BTSSB for delicious AATP stuffs
Does the mall have an arcade?...
>>5151089fucking, THIS. I think the mall of America has an arcade.
I would go to get sushi, while waiting for my two hookers and coke to arrive.
>go to banana republic>buy one item>no regrets
>>5151110I would be AWESOME
>>5151160Meant to say *it but I mean, the above still applies
I'd buy shit I could re-sell on ebay and then get the 2k back for something that's not sold in shitty malls.
MAC, Juicy Couture, the designer shoe stores. I'd spend a good $500 at MAC and Juicy. $1000 on shoes.Normal clothes don't interest me, unfortunately. And I don't value precious gems- so I wouldn't waste it on jewelry. Only reason I'd get Juicy stuff is because I'm a brand whore, same for shoes. I don't think it's worth it- but for free? Sure. Also $2000 isn't a lot of money to me, I spend that much every couple of weeks (hurray for having a job and no bills to pay + credit cards with 0% interest) but fuck if it wouldn't be fun.
I AM GOING TO LOOK LIKE THE HIPPEST HIPSTER EVER. SO FUCKING STYLISH.
Well, BASICS FUCKING EVERWHERE first. Poorfag since birth, it's nigh impossible for me to justify spending 100 bucks for a shirt or pair of jeans, no matter how good they look. Besides, going cheap, I can buy more.>Jewelry>This mall better have a fucking Barnes and Noble>Claires because they have some cute as fuck jewelry, especially this pair of crystal scroll earrings right now for $10.>a shitton of Hello Kitty shit. I will never get past Hello Kitty. And Chococat.>Sephora for tokidoki>some cute scarves>3DS
2000 bucks? I guess I'd put a down payment on a blazer from Barney's.
Fabric, Nice tights and stockings, and a dress. Maybe some shoes. Dunno, I'm pretty boring. The mall does have a fabric store, right?
First priority-clothes. I've been needing a massive wardrobe overhaul. Probably hit up GAP and Jcrew for most of my things. Get some business/professional clothes from Macy's. Shoes from Nordstrom. Lunch break at Nordstrom Cafe. The rest would go to books, comics, and stupid shit from the Jcpenney home section, like a bunch of throw pillows I don't even need. Make-up basics from sephora or something. Then more throw pillows and blankets.Go home, build a pillow fort, make them dress up in fancy clothes, have a sophisticated tea party in the pillow fort.
FABRIC. ALL THE FABRIC AND SEWING MATERIALS I WOULD NEED. Plus some cheap jewelry to break apart to make my own jewelry with, and and a new sewing machine, and some shoes and some electronic gadgets n shit....and a soda.
I guess some comfy clothes, fabric and craft items I would need for up coming cosplays, maybe a cheap trumpet or a good clarinet, nerdy sheet music (if available), books, stuff for friends, and a simple SLR good for a beginner.
>>5151257Actually, there's a mall in San Antonio, TX that has a JoAnn Fabrics...
>A REAL MATTRESS>GROCERIES>bookstore>skincare basics>uniqlo for jeans, basics & heat-tech tightsI fucking hate living in new york sometimes, the prices of simple groceries here is ridiculous and I don't even shop at expensive places. $4.99/lbs for broccoli? $8.99/lbs for mushrooms? and that doesn't even include the fucking tax on top of everything.also, in need of a mattress since I've been sleeping on a fold-out sofa that a friend donated when I moved to a different apartment and it's been too expensive to buy a bed so I've just been stacking duvets whenever they go on sale at kmart /cheap&poor
-Jeans. Goddamn do I need jeans. Like 5 of them.-A pair of nice leather knee-high boots.-An ass load of cheap shit from Forever 21 and the like.
>What stores would you hit up?>2000>implying i can spread that money across even 2 storesProbably add money out of my own pocket for a omega seamaster pro
>>5151996I've always wondered, how do people shop for groceries in NYC?
Wait, so do you get to take the blindfold off once you get there? Or do you have to do the shopping blindfolded?
I work at the biggest mall in North America.
I would buy a fancy computer and another tablet, if anything is left I would buy some video games.
>>5152045anon in another huge city here.i only buy groceries to cover the next few days at a time. helps with the small kitchen space and the fact that it sucks to take large amounts of groceries on transit. use a rolling cart.
Buy $2,000 worth of Cinnabon and Orange Julius
i would buy something worth 2000$, then return it at a different store location
>>5152045...In a grocery store?>>5152043>Omega Seamaster
I would spend it on a plane ticket home, since I live in Northern Europe and I'm pretty sure the largest mall is somewhere in America.
This scenario started out sexy and went boring. Don't care.
Clothing. Just. a lot of basics. I need to toss out like 80% of my wardrobe, but I don't have the resources to replace it all... Pants, some nice skirts, TOPS (that aren't awful screen tees from my teenaged years...), probably a few good pairs of shoes...God, what I really need right now is another good winter jacket and rainboots... I need rainboots really really bad. But, really, it might be an adventure to hit 2000... I can't really reason spending over a certain amount for whatever item... Pants and tops no more than 30... I'd spend a lot of the coat, though, if it was one of those industrial strength wool coats. Eh.
>>5152065>says the poorfag wearing a timex
I don't know if I'd go to a nice store and spend it on a few statement pieces (Vivienne Westwood suit?) or go to simple stores like Forever 21 and just go crazy. Also, agreeing with the Anon saying it wouldn't get you much. It really depends on where you would shop, but an example: Loubotin heels cost around $1,300 a pair. So you'd be able to get one pair of shoes.
>>5152069Same quality movement broBut enjoy your overpriced moonstalgia
>>5152081>sweeping hand makes it gud watchi bet that most accurate sweeping hand watch from bulova gets u wet too eh?
Either half a Chanel bag, a Rick Owens jacket, or 2 pairs of Louboutin/Chanel shoes. or YSL tote
>>5152043your pocket or mommies?
>>5152087Nowadays they just use an ETA like everyone else. Swatches gonna Swatch. But a vintage Accutron, oh baby. That buzzing's better than a Hitachi magic wand.
>>5152098quality of materialsand doesnt matter had sex
Apart from the obvious "zomg clothes" I'd want to spend it on sex toys and art supplies also books and a new shelf for them, and a lava lamp because those things are mint
>>5152112Um, what?
>>5152117i said, doesnt matter had sex
>>5152118Well then, alright.

JEWELRY OH GOD AND PERFUME AND DRESSES AND BOOKS AND SCARVES AND BAGS AND HATS AND USELESS HOME DECOR THINGS LIKE SOAP BOTTLES AND HAT BOXES AND STUFF.I actually don't like shoe shopping. I have wonky feet that are much too wide and thick for most shoes and I get blisters and sore feet really easily.

Any vidja game stores and electronics stores. Also book stores. And any sort of /tg/ related stores... I'd actually be able to afford stuff from Games Workshop.Money would be gone in an instant, I swear.
>$2000Oh man I'd have so much trouble trying to spend that money, I don't care for name brand stuff like clothes, purses, etc and I'm beyond cheap & always looking for sales. (I almost die at the thought of someone paying $25.00 for a shirt) because I have that mentality of "If I can get it cheap and still look nice Im happy". But basically I'd buy clothes & shoes from forever 21, books from Barnes & Noble, some DS games, ungodly amounts of Sanrio & TokiDoki items, a nice cell phone, & grab some food or groceries.
>>5152547whatcha got against coach bra?
Buy a couple of expensive suits from Hugo Boss.
I'd probably head straight for Lane Bryant. I'm a big girl. Bras are expensive for big girls. I'd get 10. I'd also buy a bunch of new underwear. I'd also buy 3 new pairs of nice jeans. I think I'm going to go solid colors this fall, so I'd also look to see if they have sold long sleeved blouses. This is probably another $200.THEN, I'd go to sephora and maybe get that air brush makeup set! How much is that? $250? Plus the matching makeup, like the spray on blush and eye shadows. I'd get nude/neutral colors and a peachy blush for every day use, so that would be - what - another $100? I'd also grab a nice lipstick/gloss and powder compact. Probably either from YSL or just go find a department store that sells Chanel cosmetics. I'm mostly after the packaging anyway. I'd also want a new signature perfume/smell. I'd test them out and find one that is good. That's another $70-90.Where are we at? $1125-ish?Hmm...what next. I wouldn't mind more earrings or accessories to go with my fairly plain fall/winter wardrobe. I'd probably hit up a cheaper place, like claire's. I'd get a WHOLE bunch of big attention-getting earrings. (Like some pretty feather ones) Some cute hair clips or hair bands. I'm sure they'd have scarves too. I'd say a good $150 could easily be spent for a massive haul. I'd want a turquoise YSL arty ring too. But they don't make them for fat fingers. But if I could, that'd be another $200Finally, I have a damier LV speedy bag that I love. I'd probably use the rest of the money at a LV store and buy some accessories that match it. A cell phone cover/pouch. Perhaps a makeup clutch or some sort of wallet thing. That should wipe out the rest of my money. Might even put me over budget. Yeah. I'd say that's a good haul. I'd walk home with my bags and be VERY VERY happy with my day. Thanks for the fun, OP!
>>5152559Nothing! I'm a fan of their older style Sabrina. Pic related. I just didn't think your specific dream purse was attractive. That's all. Yet, to each their own, right?
>>5152646>>5152646Ahh okay that really wasn't my dream dream purse. My dream coach purse sorta looks like this but I haven't found the one I fell in love with like last summer, it was blue and gold and BEAUTIFUL.Oh and I'd get some YSL handbags too. And some Clinique Even Clear so I can be pretty
>>5152553A-Are you me?
>>5152721I...I think so
Is there a target in that mall? I really only shop at target for my clothes these days...Might hit up Victoria's Secret for a nice bra and a shoe store for some new shoes...Then get a laptop and all the kitchen things i need for the apartment that I can't afford... like a potato masher and a cheese grater. It sucks not having a job.
About 5 Jeffrey Campbell Lita shoes, one thing from Haute couture (but something little) and a lot of shopping in H&M, Zara, Asos, lot of shoes...Yeah, a good shopping time.
I could spend $2k in Sephora in about thirty minutes. And then I'd cry when I passed Gamestop and Barnes & Nobles, but I'd know I made the right choice. You can't torrent a tube of lipstick.
$2,000 worth of dollar store crap. JUST BECAUSE.
$2000 can't buy me the pair of Christian Louboutins I want.
>>5153352$100 would buy you a pair of Jessica Simpson's and enough Swarovski Elements to have a pair.
>>5153364you obviously don't know how much Swarovskis cost or how many would be needed, but you are close in one respect. Jessica Simpson shoes are some of the closest I have been able to find to that shape. Sadly that pair only comes in patent.
i would buy shit i need as opposed to shit i wantthen its the shit i want after thatand shoes and vidya gaems and masses of japanezz candies
I'd probably start with getting laser hair removal on my legs/pits/bikini. No clue how much a single session would cost, just that it's more than I'm willing to spend normally. Then a new monitor so I can give my dad back the one I borrowed from him. Nothing fancy, just a good quality small one. 200 maxWhatever money is left I would spend on books about art, biology, historical clothing, whatever catches my eye.... I'd probably need to buy an extra bookcase.
>>5153374>OMG SWAROVSKIS ARE TOO EXPENSIVEOh god, yet another person who doesn't realize that its a cut of goddamn GLASS and are actually sold in JoAnns, Michaels, etc. They are real Swarovskis.
I would probably go to Abercrombie&fitch first, I think. I've never bought anything from there, but It all looks nice and well-put-together. Just a few things from there, maybe two tops and a skirt. Some nice underwear from VS, because I've never shopped there. Then I'd go to Sears and get some awesome kitchen stuff.I'd eat something awesome at the food court. And then whatever money I had left over would be spent at Barnes & Noble. Dear god, I love books but if I went there first all my money would be books.
