Well, my first one was a popular nickname I had that to this day my friends know more than my actual name. My second one is newer and I'm thinking of making it my cosplayer name since my nickname has pretty much become my real name at this point.

I picked mine directly from the title of one of my favourite films. It later became a reference to something else. I have a second name that was bestowed upon me by ladies at one of the conventions I attended at the time.

I used Maguma as my account name on cosplay.com, every other person in this community did the rest by calling me so, and then it stuck. Originally my handle was going to be DynamiteBreakdown. That obviously did not stick.

Something short, easy to remember and sufficiently different to come out tops in google searches.

Oshi Hidra was a character given to me for a Digimon RP in Yahoo Chat way back in like, 97-98.
Needless to say, it stuck better than... what the hell was I using then, "paulfire14" or something?

So I kind of went into cosplay already having an alias. I'm no help.

I technically go by two different names. Most of my accounts go by some old weaboo name I used to use for everything. My ACP and here I got by Ukraine, which I got from cosplaying Ukraine from Hetalia.

Basically.

I made the mistake of basing my first one off an anime character I was really into at the time. Don't do that. Once a few years pass and the show's gotten kind of old it's going to seem kind of embarrassing, especially as you get older. Having a name based on a character from a show that's over 10 years old is a pretty obvious fucking way to date yourself. Luckily the only people who really knew me by that name were people in my local cosplay community at the time and I've moved since so I've been able to get away from it. The only thing I still use it for is AIM since the only people I still talk to on AIM are some of the people who I made friends with back then.

My cosplay name was actually came from my internet name I use on various websites and forums. The initial 'J' stands for Japan, and Kid because because I'm young at heart. I adopted the J meaning when I was interested in Japan and anime at the time when I was a teenager. However, as time passes the J became more of an initialism.

No one knows who I am, but I'm gonna post anyways.

I picked Kuro, namely because of Kagami Kuro, pic related, who is one of my favorite female characters in anime and manga. Also, Kuro means black, and my hair is black, as are a good potrion of my clothes. So I figured it fit

Masa has been my nickname from high school for being white like flour, and online from various roleplays in the past that used the name. I cosplay Luffy so I took out the Monkey part.

Most people just say Masa, but some people associate the character with me now. I'm getting older but I still don't mind at all.

Mine's short for Rabid Potato, which is my dA handle and sort of evolved to be my all-around art and cosplay name. It was a stupid inside joke that stuck, but at least it's better than my previous handle.

I just use my usual online alias. It's practically my second name. Used to be something else, but as the interbutts got huger, I found out that name was unusually common so I changed it up a bit. Now it's one of a kind and almost universally refers to me and me alone, sans a few incidents where spambots on MMOs have randomly generated my alias as their name.

I liked the name, here it is on a random restaurant south of Guelph.

I only really use it on here, though. I'm slowly transitioning from using Tamerlane for everything to Enver for everything

It's my real name, believe it or not. Short for Katherine.
I was named after Kitty Bennett in Pride and Prejudice. I added the "Kazoo" to my trip after somebody else popped up on here named Kitty. Wutevs, Kazoo is a really old nickname of mine. More than anything, I stick it onto the end of Kitty, so people might see the connection between this and my coscom account, which is stupidly and randomly Yazoo_the_Kazoo. I dunno.

Zahirus is a name I came up with for one of my characters on a mmo and decided to stick with it. Then I googled it and saw that actually the name already existed, there can be no originality these days lol.

Story behind the whole PantsuNugeruMon thing is that since I cosplay Mio, I tend to go overboard with the whole shimapan deal to the point of obsession. In K-On!, there is a scene where Mio trips, and the whole crowd sees her striped undies. (Picture related) She then proclaims that nobody will marry her since they saw her panties.
I was also notorious for posting pictures on here with panties in my mouth. Anyway, because of my liking to the underwear type and the song, people started calling me Pantsu, and it just pretty much stuck.

My screename has always been some variation of M3RC. Ex: xTHE_M3RCENARY, M3RCENARY, and so on.

Choosing the name M3RC was logical.

Someone made a thread here ages ago about what kind of hats to make for an AA table. I jokingly said USAVICH HATS with a picture of Boris attached. A random friend of mine from another site stumbled on it and asked if it was me who posted, so I responded with a trip so she always knew who I was. I just chose "Militsiya Officer Boris" because it was relevant to that particular thread since I was talking about Usavich. But then of course, I got attached to the name and I kept it.

Then eventually I went full on faggot mode and threw Boris avatars into the mix.

My ex cosplay nickname (Mew) was just something that stemmed from my account names (mewtwo2222) that I used on everything because I was lazy. I think I started using that when I made an account on Neopets when I was 8 or something, and I'd just seen the pokemon movie...
I don't answer to mew anymore though so I just go by my real name in the cosplay scene.
Sexpot was just something that Catty told me to trip as... Again, I was lazy. Still, I've never had anyone call me sexpot in real life so it's not so weird.

'Sachie' is the name of my favourite character from the manga 'Arakure' by Fujiwara Kiyo. I really liked the name and started using it on various websites~

Rahne was my FFXI character's name. Played it for like 5 years so I was so used to people referring to me by it. When I would add my bros from FFXI to AIM/Skype/etc I needed a name for them to know it was me, so I kept Rahne. Used to be Peach because Princess Peach is awesome, but I like Rahne more.

Anything in real life I will use my real name, because it's not a big deal to me.

My cosplay handle is the name I've used for years just about everywhere. I came up with it for a MUD I used to play, and its stuck through countless RPGs and random websites. Mmmyup. Its kind of like... my OC. As odd as that sounds.

'Moxxi' is just my name here, because I didn't want to use my regular name and I had recently finished my Mad Moxxi cosplay. Plus the term "Moxie" is just badass.

Just tried to find a happy medium.

How I became TK-421 steams from the Army. I have this long unpronounceable last name that starts with a T and ends with a K. So my Command gave me the nickname TK. Now the 421 came from one NCO in my company. Staff Sergeant Gomez. Who would always quote Star Wars saying "TK-421 why are you not at your post?"

It's a fun geeky name and it stuck ever since.

i have two aliases, but "bleeds" is short for "knowsbleeds" which was just a pun that hit me in the face one day, and i liked it a lot, so i use it for a lot of stuff.

My common cosplay alias and username came from someone properly pronouncing one of my names with proper English pronunciation, rather than German. I grew up using a Germanic pronunciation of the name, so when someone said it properly I was confused, so myself at that time tried to spell out how the person had "mis-pronounced" my name. And thus, Rhia was born.
I did use Alice as an online alias for a long time, but I got so sick of that. Now people who know me online call me by a shortened ver. of my username, and people who know me in life, call me by my real name, unless they have permission to call me something else.

I choose Kida for my trip name because "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" is one of my all time favorite movies, and I love Princess Kida.
But with the actual name, I went cheesy and did a first and last name(but I may drop the last name, it was random.) The first name is an acronym and an anagram of the title of a book. It may sound silly, but this book is very important to me. It kinda helped me discover who I really was, and solidified that I was making the right choice in what I was doing for a career.
The anagram just stuck with me, so I decided to adopt it as my cosplay name. I kinda identify myself by it now.

I go by pillow or perilouspillow or greenbikerdude or whatever on the internet, which came from a really bad i mean amazing megaman flash animation from years ago that probably no one remembers. it started with pillow because I had like 10 pillows on my bed, then spiralled from here. I go by "Pi" on here really because it's short and I like math. *shrugs*

I was making an account for a website called TinierMe and I basically wrote up a massive list of names. A portion of these came from Final Fantasy, but I didn't want an extremely overused/popular name such as Aerith or Rinoa, so I started to look at the lesser known characters. I had played Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates recently and I really liked the name Chelinka. At the time, my friend and I were trying to find cosplay names as we were just starting to cosplay, but we didn't want something really weabooish like NaruNeko etc. and I just thought that Chelinka was a really unique name. I kinda am starting to use Strawberry a little too because I am slightly obsessed.
