Why do you bitches dress like this? No hate, just curious.
What could possibly possess you to dress like a 6 year old girl?

    >I do it for myself.
You want to dress like a 8 year old girl and be spoiled? ok womanchild.

    >It's what I like, fuck what others think.
Come back to reality honey. Every other daddy's little princess grew up, join the crowd.

    >It's a lifestyle, and the outfit is part of it
Fine, nothing wrong with a grown ass woman pretending to be 5 everyday.

    >I do it to attract other people
You want to attract people who want to diddle little girls?

    >I do it to express myself
I hope you dont expect to be taken seriously?

Give me a good answer bitches. oh and a side note, you know how you bitches ragged on PT for wearing ridiculous shit? We lump lolitas in the same pile of people that get laughed at.

Not OP, but sounds like you're dismissing this as a troll thread because they don't share the same views as you. I'm actually curious about this myself as a cosplayer. Cause I know I would never wear my costumes to school or the mall or wherever else you all wear your costumes. So I'm legitimately curious. Guess that makes me a troll too. . .

I never dressed anything remotely like lolita as a kid nor has any other kid I've seen in my lifetime since.

It's a fun freaky fashion I don every now and then, whenever the occasion calls for it. That's as far as I see it.

I'm dismissing it as a troll thread because of the way OP worded their post. Maybe if they were legitimately asking instead of attacking, I'd give it more credit.

Most lolitas don't view the clothes as costumes, just a really eccentric type of fashion. While I'd never wear my frills to Wal-Mart (unless it was before a con), I really see no other reason to not wear them in public because they're just clothes. I recognize I look weird to a considerable percentage of the population, but if I feel confident in what I'm wearing, I don't get bothered.

dildos, why you make troll thread?

Also, when you first appeared on /cgl/ you wanted a lolita girl to spoil, what made you change your mind?

I wear lolita cause I enjoy the feeliing of being ridiculously girly, especially since I didn't start wearing skirts regularly until I got into the fashion 6 years ago. I also like the positive attention I get from little girls who think I'm a princess and older ladies who think I'm adorable. I also make my lolita clothes, so I feel pretty awesome when someone says they like my outfit and when I tell them I made it myself they think I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I do it for myself because I dropped a shit ton of weight and I love being able to fit brand. Not to mention, I feel confident.

Yeah, I'm probably a little bit of a special snowflake. 99.9% of lolitas are.

Its just fun. I mean I think scene and goth kids look ridiculous. Its funny, remember when people HATED that look and now its just as popular as hollister or some shit. In due time lolita will be accepted, may take a decade or two but it will.
    >> Anonymous 11/04/11(Fri)11:17 No.5127904
Not sure how I feel about the "it's a form of fashion" excuse. Dominatrix stuff is an "eccentric form of fashion" people don't wear it outside. Cybergoth shit is an "Eccentric form of fashion" People don't wear it outside. You don't see people wearing runway "fashion" shit to the store. . . I would never wear my lolita stuff to the store or anything. Some of you lolitas are just crazy and think it's actually some kind of fashion niche. And that it's acceptable to wear it outside.

I wore it outside with friends once. Before I had a real job, real friends, responsibilities in the real world, etc. You can't justify it with the "HATERS GON HATE" when you have a real image to maintain in the real world. It's just immature. I love my lolita as much as the next person, but there is a time and a place. That is why I am genuinely curious about the lolis who wear it outside and casually in public. I want to know what makes you think that's okay.
    >> Anonymous 11/04/11(Fri)11:17 No.5127906
Not a lolita myself, but is it really any worse than dressing to show affinity with another subculture (goth, punk, hippie, whatever?) Besides, I've never seen a lolita who looked like she was trying to seem five years old.

But okay, I'll give it a try to watch oncoming shitstorm.

I dress in lolita (but nothing ott) because it's fun and cute, and I'm a bit infantile. I used to pretend that I'm all grown up and levelheaded, but it felt fake and I was unhappy. There was this one little asian girl, that had a closet full of altered AP from her parents. Can't find her photo though.

But other than that, only sweet lolita could be seen like a kind of outfits girls would WANT to wear. All my "sunday dresses" were frumpy as hell and I hated them. But then I hated all girly wear, so I'm a bad example.

Some of us have jobs that do not require us to maintain a very strict public image. It also helps if you live in a very big city where no one gives a shit. I teach at uni. Some of the lecturers are way more eccentric than me dressed head to toe in AP. I don't like wearing lolita to work cause I like looking professional, but I wear it out in my free times. No one has even asked me about it (even when I met some coworkers at a con) or seems to care. It's just like any other legal hobby that you engage in in your free time. No1curr as long as you are professional where it matters, i.e. at work. I realize it may be different with other jobs though.

I guess the reason I would wear it is because I like the way it looks. same reason that anyone wears anything they find at the mall. I don't see why any of the arguments that OP presented are less valid just because OP had a "snarky" comeback. I like dressing in classic lolita for outings with my boyfriend or "daytime activities". I don't wear it out to bars, clubs, or anywhere else I (emphasis on I) think it would be wildly inappropriate. I like the way it looks and it doesn't impede on my social or professional life.

No, I wear it for special occasions and the like. You know, TIME and PLACE appropriate situations. . . The lolis who go out and wear over the top bullshit to walmart or the mall or wherever are the reason I don't own up to ever wearing lolita. Because you make us all look like eccentric fucks. Like the weaboos who don their animu accessories and wigs in public. It just doesn't make sense to wear it every day all day. How is wearing it for specific occasions and times a "waste"? Does that make an outfit you wear to very formal occasions like a wedding or a funeral a waste? (And no, I don't mean I wear lolita to such events. I try to be as normal as I can thank you) If you buy a nice necklace and earring set that you only wear when you get really fancied up for special occasions, does that make it a waste? I think not. Just because I'm not wearing it every day, does not mean I'm wasting my lolita stuff. . .

No, I'm not saying it in a whiny hipster bullshit way, I'm saying it like this.

    >Tell someone I like lolita
    >"Ew you mean those gaudy girls that dress up in over exuberant dresses to go anywhere?
    >-facepalm-

It's like the illegal mexicans that give mexicans a bad name.
The weaboos that give animu fans a bad name
The Nazis that give germans a bad name

You know, the few scrutinized things that people make stereotypes out of. But you were oh so eager to pull the "totally underage tween" card. I would try to elaborate my point more, but then you would just continue to try and immaturely shrug off my argument. It's the same damn thing as anime fans who don't admit publically that they like anime because everyone assumes that they're like the weaboo stereotype everyone assumes. Same thing. I don't tell everyone in the world I like lolita because of the eccentric retards who wear full brand and bright wigs and shit to the mall or on the bus. And usually the ones who do that shit always complain "I got stares on the bus today because I was in my full AP ensemble with my new bubble gum pink pigtail wig. HATERS GON HATE" It's frustrating because you automatically get lumped in with the others. So I don't see how I'm not "taking responsibility for who I am" If anything I'm taking responsibility of who I am by not telling everyone I'm a lolita or wearing ridiculous shit everywhere I go. Lolita isn't EVERYTHING about me. I have a professional life and a social life outside of the lolita comm. So, that's me being responsible to who I am on ALL fronts. Sorry for ranting, but it's frustrating when the extreme bad of anything ruins it for the rest of us.

Go to youtube and look for corset training, there are hundreds of videos of chicks in vinyl corsets and ballet boots in parks and walking down the street.

confirmed for selfish cunt. have you ever been around someone who wears naruto headbands and does weeaboo shit at the mall while they're with you? yeah, it's called being embarrassed to be associated with someone or something. for instance, being ASSOCIATED with being an over-the-top gaudy walking diabetic sugar mountain. you honestly can't say you're into lolita to an outsider and to anyone who's heard the word instantly thinks of that over the top uguu desu candy sweet sweet shit. it's called guilty by association. like people who wear flannel and thick rimmed glasses are guilty by association with hipsters or muslims who are guilty by association with terrorists or whatever. some people just dont like to be associated with the negative stereotype that goes along with lolita. like animu fans and weebs.

You must not live in California or anywhere else that's more "accepting" of counterculture. I see more goths, cybergoths, leatherheads, and DIY freaks out in my town alone than lolitas I've ever seen outside anywhere. Besides, if you dress lolita and really care enough to waste that much money on a brand-name outfit or outfits, why would you NOT show it off?

It seems weird for a lolita to both indulge in an overly expensive hobby and simultaneously be ashamed of it.

    >I do it for myself.
You want to dress like a 8 year old girl and be spoiled? ok womanchild.
should we all strive to be the same person? being a adult is subjective. Just because you dress in a suit and tie doesn't mean you are a adult. That is based simply on maturity alone.

    >It's what I like, fuck what others think.
Come back to reality honey. Every other daddy's little princess grew up, join the crowd.
Reality is also subjective. Just because you live in a drab word doesn't mean I have to. I'm genuinely curious to see what op thinks is "reality"

    >It's a lifestyle, and the outfit is part of it
Fine, nothing wrong with a grown ass woman pretending to be 5 everyday.
Clearly you don't know what the lifestyle actually is. Its not about acting five, its about acting like a princess or other form of nobility from another time. Can 5 year olds make tea or cupcakes or other more detailed pastries? No. They cannot even use a oven.
    >I do it to attract other people
You want to attract people who want to diddle little girls? No, I want to attract people that understand the value of innocence and being classy in a dirty world like ours. Also I want someone who will care for me despite what I'm wearing and has some of the same interests as me. If I dressed the same as everyone else I would be misrepresenting myself to others.

    >I do it to express myself
I hope you dont expect to be taken seriously?
Because in op's world everyone must be serious. ALL THE TIME! no exceptions! =P

Just because your arguments are insulting doesn't mean the have and kind of truth behind them. But your probably just trolling anyways, so i don't know why I bothered.
