11/03/11(Thu)07:39 No. 5124756 I
know someone is going to chime in with the "if this was actually
happening CPS would have gotten involved" argument, so I'm just going to
say... no. I'm in Canada, not the US, but my friend and her
younger sister were abused by her mom and dad for the better portion of
their lives. It ranged from being screamed at for not doing the dishes,
emotionally abused and told she was worthless, to her mom just flying
into my friend's room, dragging her out of her bunk bed, and slapping
her repeatedly. Her dad did shit all and also would flip out at fucking
nothing. They were absolute shit parents and blew money on booze and
weed to distract themselves from their failing marriage. They took out
their personal demons on their kids. They very often had little to no
food in the house and my friend would come to my house just to have a
safe place to sleep and a good meal if her mom got too intense and her
dad, once again, spent all the money on weed. Throughout this whole
ordeal, my friend had been contacting CPS, calling the police, the whole
nine yards. Her mom was an excellent sweet-talker and literally NOTHING
happened all the years I knew her. Finally about 6 months ago, her
sister had to make frequent visits to the hospital because of a medical
condition. She had to see a hospital therapist to help her through stuff
and she mentioned vaguely that sometimes her mom hit her. The ONLY
reason CPS did ANYTHING to get my friend and her sister removed from
their parents was because the hospital therapist called CPS. My friend and her sister now live far away from their parents, thank god. While
they weren't beaten into a handicap or to death, that's still a totally
unacceptable way to treat ANYONE, much less your own child.
