Needlewoman
on the far right. One of my favorite con shots of the costume because
you get a good view of the outfit as a whole, and you can REALLY see all
of the destruction that went into the hakama. You can't see the needles
in the arms all that well, but it's a welcome trade for a good
full-body shot of this costume.
Needles will probably always be
my favorite costume. The first time I wore her, I didn't expect much
attention, let alone any recognition. Oh man, was I wrong - I've not had
a costume before or since that garnered so much appreciation from other
con-goers, AND I had a handful of hardcore Fatal Framers flip out over
seeing one of the ghosts cosplayed. And, even better, I (and my fellow
NC Fatal Frame cosplayers) have even gotten a good number of people
interested in the series. I love to share the things that I enjoy, and
this costume is just perfect for that.
The costume is creepy as
all get-out, and yet it's oddly elegant. I have fun with the way I move,
the sounds I make, and the comments that I hear people making in
passing (mostly along the lines of "Holy SHIT did you see that?").
Despite the work that goes into putting it on, it's just incredibly fun
to walk about in. |
