Tell me about your local comm, /cgl/.

The Savannah, GA comm is awesome. No high schoolers, in fact it's 99 % college students, and we have one brolita that comes in from SC every once in a while who is the chillest guy ever. No catty bitches, and everyone seems to have a great time. The locals love us, too!

The Saint Louis MO comm is pretty cool now. There are some people who call themselves lolitas, but aren't. And for a while there was one absolutely bat-shit crazy girl. But, they don't get invited to the meetups anymore.

The itas usually run the animu panels over here since the normal girls have gotten tired of that bullshit. We also don't have any high school brats. The youngest is a senior in uni. But, unfortunately that means the comm is slowly dwindling as people move away for grad school and new jobs.

I should stop being a hermit and going to more meets when I can.

I don't see why not! I was absolutely plus size when I joined, been losing weight so I'm now borderline... But really it's all about whether or not you know how to work with what you've got. I don't think you'll have any probs.

I'm the one on the far left with the milky berry dress. This isn't the whole group - We had a last minute meetup last night and this was the only group shot we got. Some of the other girls that showed weren't in it unfortunately. I think the largest meetup we had was in april where we had 18 lolitas, and our FB page has something like 70 fans, so the number of meetup attendees fluctuates a lot. It would be really great if we could get EVERYONE to a meetup once. We have had people come in from surrounding cities too.

Ive not been involved in my local comm too much but they are really cool so far. Though we have underage kids, lots of drama, and seems the group is split into lots of little factions who hate each other. Usually just hang out with one girl at a time which is fine for me, get better 1-1 conversations anyways. Just wish the rest of them would start getting along, I don't really get when/why the drama started.

The factions are split mainly by age and areas, as we are spread out amongst lots of little local areas. As far as I am aware they all became friends through Lolita except for 1 or 2, but I’ve not been in the comm for long nor do I go to the big meets so I’m not privy to all the details. I just know whenever there is a big meet drama goes down. It’s a shame because I like them all, just wish they would like each other.

I think they look like they're trying to do what they can with what they have. It can be really tough to make this fashion work when you're overweight. Seems like a lot of the girls need to just work on improving hair and makeup, and that would take them leaps and bounds!

I'm glad to hear they're nice people though. How do the communities work in large cities? That can't be the whole chicago group, can it? Do individual districts of the city have their own groups?

Black girl standing up looks kinda cute just needs a petti?
Guy up top with the tophat, could use some sort of jabot and a better quality none shiney tophat to pull it off more?
Black girl sat on floor is probably a friend of the group and not i the fashion so ignoring her.
People in the phone booth look a bit mis coorded and messy but its dark in tehre and obscued so will give benefit of doubt.
Girl on floor on far right looks alright, but then again I love rosemelody so bias.
Girl above her on far right...bad makeup bad hair bad outfit (trying to stay away from weight as overweight doesnt nessecarily mean ugly, just likley). Shes not helping herself in anyway at all.
Girl at top right, wtf is goingg on with her knees, is she wearing tight elastics or something? Mismatches random blue glasses and scarf, boring hair.

what matters though, is are they nice people?

Moving to Vancouver in a few months. You have no idea how reassuring this is for me, haha.

My local comm is pretty big, mostly college students, a couple of people who work, and the occasional ita. Some people are just a bit too much for me, am one of the oldfags. I am close with a few of the girls, and we meet in cliques. It's fucking annoying when you have a new ita being pushy and asking why you didn't tell them that you were having a private meet with someone. Shit, it's just annoying.

My local group were a bunch of sweet hearts but recently a couple of girls have joined and just open the doors for a buttload of weebs. I don't have a problem with how they dress, it's their piss poor attitude, one in particular makes the most ignorant comments and when people try to be nice and correct her or try to guide her, she flips her god damn shit and accuses everyone of picking on her and singling her out. It's fucking terrible, not to mention she's always bringing up about how her mum hates the fashion and how she has such a hard home life *eye-roll* No1curr.

My comm is split up into like two groups. There was some drama that happened earlier this year and it caused a bunch of friendships to end. For a while they where using /cgl/ to get/bash one another but it seems that its finally died down to the occasional trash talk. personally I don't get involved so going to meetups is rough for those of us who are friends with people where are on both sides of the drama. its more like an awkward feeling when you are around them and they start talking about the other lolitas. It makes planning meetups kinda hard. Personally I just dont go to the meetups any more and do lolita on my own by my self.

image is of our comm before the drama. I kinda wish I could have gone to this meetup but was out of town that weekend.

I'm sick of the bullshit drama too. I'd like everyone to get along, but both sides are being childish and refusing to make amends. Stop pushing blame on someone else, and apologize. Even if the other girls might not accept it, no one's guiltless in the argument.

It sucks because I made friends from one side and therefore feel banned from ever making friends with the other girls. I'd like meetups to not be awkward and to stop the trash talk. It's rude.

I mostly just do lolita and am open to anyone talking to me. Idgaf who you are as long as we have similar interests.

What else is there to say? We all get on well, we're by and large a very well dressed group, and we always have a great time to get together. Many of us are very good friends.

Ikr its childish. it makes me feel banned from them all too. i feel that some of the other girls who where not involved where pushed away from some girls because they where friends with other girls. if that made any sense. I know its a lot of what has to do with the maid cafe and being kicked out or something like that. i really dont know but its been like a year now so i think they just need to agree to disagree and move on. its making it hard on those who want to be friends with both people. no one likes having to chose sides.

last I heard was Crystal vanished or something like that.

The Melbourne community's pretty good. Minimal drama and a core group consistently attends meetups. The Facebook group has 99 members, but I don't recognise half of them. I'm pretty sure most of the unknowns aren't even lolitas, just randoms with a passing fancy for frilly dresses added by their friends.

I'm sorry! I'm trying to get to a meet, it's just hard with school during the week and work on the weekends. I met a couple lolis at Manifest and I'd really like to meet more people from the community though.
