odds are we won't really have concrete plans until the panel schedule come out, which we should be getting a rough draft any time soon.

It's going to be my first time at YoumaCon (or Detroit for that matter, as I live in Los Angeles). The boyfriend is bringing me along, and I don't know what to expect. I kinda want to cosplay Lara Croft and Homura, but won't it be cold?

It's definitely worth it! Youma is an amazing convention, I've been going to it since '07 and it's honestly my favorite con. If you have the opportunity to go I wouldn't miss it! Even if you just come for a day to see what it's like for yourself.

And yeah, that Demyx cosplayer will be there, I'm sure. I've got a few stories about him, too, unfortunately.

The costume I'm working on the most is Maria from Silent Hill 2. I also have a pretty good cosplay of the Baby Jane splicer from bioshock, but I'm not sure how well Bioshock cosplay will fit in with japanese anime/game cosplays.

None of the hate was really towards the convention itself, from what I can remember. Most of it was because the RenCen didn't realize how big of an event this is, so everything was crammed onto three floors. And then Elevator Hell. But despite that everyone still seemed like to had a great time! I know I did, haha! There's an offical one saturday at 4, and an unoffical one friday at the same time. Both are at the wintergarden, but may move to the riverfront if the weather is good.

There is also a persona only midnight shoot on saturday/sunday at several locations starting at the wintergarden.
