Pretty much this for me, I touch it up in case.

I wear it until I don't feel like cosplaying the character anymore.
Is the outfit gets damaged but I still love it, I'll either remake or repair it, depending on said-damage.

I generally only wear my costumes once or twice. There are a few occasions where if I love the costume enough, I'll wear it until it's just too awful looking to wear anymore.

Or I just get sick of packing it.

I never retire mine.

Until it doesn't fit, until I'm not into the series anymore or until my skills have improved to the point where I feel that its a poor representation of what I'm capable of.

It depends on the character. There are a few characters that I will continue to cosplay for years but wear different outfits. As for others, I'll usually just wear one outfit one or two times and then retire it. For example, I cosplayed Integra Hellsing for 4 years and wore a bunch of different outfits. But I only cosplayed Toki Wartooth once and only wore one outfit.

It depends on the costume.

tl:dr: If it doesn't end up looking ike shit 3-4 times. If its really well done, and hasn't gotten old wearing it, then more than 5 times
