My rage will begin on October 24, when people from other boards will begin to post constantly. They will all want: 1) an incredibly detailed costume (i.e. Ezio, Altair, Master Chief), 2) knowledge of how to make in in a week, and 3) to know how to make it for under $20. Then they will call us useless bitches and whores who will die alone when we tell them it's impossible.

And they won't even have the decency to keep it to one thread, they will all post their own threads.

    Better one:

    >Birthday is October 22, have a combined Halloween/birthday party
    >Request people attend in costume
    >One person wears pink lashes, one wears cat ears, others wear casual clothes
    >Change out of my costume after half an hour

I kind of hate Halloween. I have never had fun on Halloween and everyone expects me to love it because "lol but you do costumes all the time!"

It's not very fun, though, because every costume I have is pretty obscure and frankly, people generally think having a detailed, non-funny costume on Halloween is weird. Least favorite holiday. The only redeeming factor is candy.

A while ago someone tagged a bunch of my cosplay pictures on Facebook. I untagged them but not fast enough to prevent...

    Two days ago at work
    >Hey Anon, my little sister, she's in high school, she needs a costume and she likes those weird japanese cartoons too and she's your size, maybe could she borrow one of your costumes you don't use?
"Well um sure let me talk to her and see if there's anything I've made that I can loan out that she'd like?" I have some old Naruto bullshit I don't mind loaning to kids, why not? I'm sure as hell not wearing it anymore. So her little sister calls me and I get this before I can even get a word in edgewise:
    >Hey Anon! My brother told me you like anime! That's soooo cool! He said you'd make me a costume for free too! I just saw a movie called Evangelion, have you heard of it? I want to be the white suit girl with the blue hair!

Oh yes. I haven't been attacked yet but I know it's coming. I thankfully didn't have to do anything last year because I put a stop to the requests really quick by making it clear that I would not be able/willing to make something in a week for $30 not including materials.

Last year I was asked to make a stage-perfect Mister Mistoffeles with light-up vest, custom wig, and all. All went well until I came back to the guy with a rough estimate of the cost. He tried to talk me into $40 after hearing that the suit alone would be $50.
The other insane one asked first for a sexy pirate, then a gigantic renaissance outfit, and then 5 or six other things before coming back to the ren-faire insanity. She chose some very lovely, very expensive silk as well as wanting a corset. She expected I already had everything and wouldn't pay for anything.

Wow, I'm sorry for some of these stories, I wish you guys could have happier Halloweens!

Halloweens around here are pretty fun. Me and my group of friends are all pretty chillax, and we invite each other to Halloween parties. We try not to overlap parties so we have them on the 28th, 29th, 30th consecutively, it also helps if we're allowed to spend the night in case we get drunk. They're not big parties either (normally 15-20 people) so everyone knows each other and there hardly isn't drama or tension. We usually go trick-or-treating too (although it did get a bit lame since they recently made the curfew around here for collecting candy only until 7-8pm). We don't feel weird doing it since each of us are normally wearing full costumes. It's nice to be able to dick around with your friends and act immature over candy.

HOWEVER, there was an incident that made me rage last year:
    >have a gay, flamboyant friend
    >kinda pudgy
    >says he wants to walk around town with us in costume
    >we go to pick him up from his house
    >skin tight, red skinny jeans
    >too-tight purple t-shirt that's constricting his moobs
    >pink face paint with random red dots on it
    >Durex CONDOMS taped onto the shirt
    >tacky party beads around neck
    >some color fedora hat
    >"I'M GOING AS AIDS!"
All my whys...it was kind of...embarrassing. I'd rather be around a Leg Avenue whore.

I don't understand a lot of people's thinking I guess. I had my friends mom one year make me a costume since I was young and couldn't sew for shit. She said she would do it for free but I never even thought that would be right and paid her 200 dollars for the materials and shit, (it was a BOMB ass vampire costume). She almost cried, made me happy.

Yeah, I don't mind the people who celebrate it and have parties, but I just find it really awkward when these furry weeaboos and emos demand a halloween party at the school. There once was one but they were the only ones to dress up and some other people had like a hairband with bumblebee balls and minor shit like that.

I guess halloween hasn't hit our culture because we dress up and do crazy stuff on 1st of May. And "trick or treating" is done around Easter. Ohgodtheamountofchocolateatewheniwasakid

My senior year of high school... I spend lots of time and money on being the flying spaghetti monster for Halloween. The teachers all love it because they get it, the students think I look weird.

Best costume goes to two straight boys in leg avenue slut costumes because it's so creative or some shit.

As far as costuming for other people, I lend my costumes out but require a down payment and insurance for each piece. They pay me a huge lump sum at the beginning of the night and, provided they return the costume in one piece, they get it back... If not? Well I just made $500 on a costume I only wore twice and then forgot about!

What I really hate? When I go out of the house in my EGL or just wearing regular slightly interesting clothes with colored hair (like I do every other goddamn day) people talk to me about Halloween. Ask me what I'm dressed as. SO frustrating.

Senior year of high school, I dressed up. Nothing too crazy, just jaguar ears, tail, and fangs since the school mascot is a jaguar and I happened to already have had those. I also had this purple, witchy-ish bandana on me. A girl in my Latin class sees the bandana and tells me I can be a pirate if I let her borrow my tail. I say no problem and ask where her locker is. School ends and I stand by her locker for maybe half an hour before I have to go to choir practice. I called her later and asked where she was and it turns out she was outside waiting for me, but she'll bring the tail next week (it was a Friday). Following week, I ask where my tail is. "Oh, I left it at a friend's house." I tell her no problem again and remind her to bring it. Next day, she tells me her friend hasn't seen it. She offered to reimburse me for the fabric, but I turned it down (should have taken it). Even if I did remake it, I would still be pissed since that tail was from my first handmade cosplay and I trusted her to return it. Learned my lesson.

This year, it looks like I'm going to be stuck in the house so costumes don't matter. I just moved in with my sisters and mom so I don't know anyone other than them which means no parties. My sister invited me costume shopping with her and said I could hang with her friends on Halloween, but I don't know if I'll accept or not.

I think the only bad Halloween I've had is the year I had to leave decorating to my brother because I was sick and spent two hours getting dressed up as a generic horror marionette doll and could only hand out candy for a hour before I had to stumble back inside because I couldn't breathe and was coughing so much that I hurled all over the kitchen floor. Turns out one of my roommates from the convention I went to earlier that month wasn't getting over a cold like she said she was and me and another girl both got freaking PNEUMONIA from her.

Dirty Sanchez is an immature play on words referencing a sexual act and a possible nick name for a Mexican outlaw by the name of Sanchez.

Therefore I do not believe it can be expressly considered maliciously racist, given the solid defense of a comedic en devour on Halloween. Perhaps tasteless, but unless you are in the barrio you would be hard pressed to turn the crowd against the poster.

The best thing I like to do while handing out candy is amping up my scare factor for when groups of teens come by, especially girls in Leg Avenue costumes. I usually don't bother scaring the little kids and their parents end up freaking out more than them when I pop out from the bushes but I make those teenagers run screaming off my lawn if I can. Still proud of the fact that two years ago when these three highschoolers showed up, I made one dressed as a sexy nun freak out so bad she dropped her candy bag and took off running. Never came back for it and her friends went after her without grabbing it.

Got some bonus candy to eat out of it.

My house has two brick pillars on either side of the top step coming up to the porch. You'd be surprised how effective it is to just hide behind one once the treaters come in the yard and then just step out in front of them once they get to the bottom porch step. Also, the year I was the Grim Reaper, my robe and hood were too big (it was a men's costume) so I just sat motionless on the bench beside the door and when they got on the porch and went to ring the bell, I'd move.

For the nun and her friends though, it was the year I was a sewn up doll, had stitches and blood all over my face. I just stood in this pose with my head lowered and my hair covering my face, my arms above me like they were on strings and when they came up, I yanked my head up and stared at them and then started doing this stumbling walk towards them, dragging one leg and turning my head all stuttery without ever saying a word. It's the silence that really freaks them out. If you make any noise, it's less scary because they can be startled and then laugh it off because they know you're just another person, but the silence just freaks them out, especially if they try to speak to you and you don't respond.

Pic related is my costume this year. I'm hoping it being a familiar horror movie character will make it scarier. I'm going to be crawling out from under the candy table.

Anyway, I've decided on going either as:

    >2.
Zombie 20's gangsters, shirt/suspenders or waistcoat, fedora or trilby, no jacket, as many wounds and blood as possible.

And the roommate could have deliberately been stealing their prescriptions hoping for a good buzz because RX pills are a common form of getting high now.
    >LOL I'll be at the party tonight for sure. My roommate takes some pills daily so I can probably swipe them and see how high we can get. I don't really know what they are, but I bet they're awesome.
More and more people have realized it's easier to get their hands on RX pills from friends and family than buying shit off a dealer and hoping it's what they paid for. Shit, how many people share their fucking Adderall or Vicodin with others like it's nothing.

One year they tied a noose around his brother's neck and had a rock climbing harness under his clothes.
