    What you have done:

    >Wasted all of your money on costumes/lolita burando to try to impress people on the internet
    >Squandered the remainder of your teenage years/early 20s doing nothing
    >Remained unemployed/working some shitty job going nowhere
    >Spent your time at home playing games and collecting shit you don't need.

    >Received in return: some empty compliments from strangers and some pals to talk with over the internet

What you should have done instead:

    >Saved your money
    >Worked on furthering your education/career
    >Bought a house and started a family
    >Formed REAL relationships out in the world, not the internet.
    >Spent your time exercising, learning new skills, and bettering yourself

    >Received in return: A better life

How does it feel to have made the wrong choice?

I can't tell if you're talking about the people in the photo, or about cosplayers in general...

Considering I've made some awesome friends through out the years and it's kept me from ending up like my sisters and my cousins who have all married before they hit 25 and even had babies within the first two years of marriage and now all live in the same trailer park we grew up in, I'd say thank you cosplay. I'm way better off and way happier.

Yup, that's about right, except for the buying a house part, I'm still working on that.

are you interchanging this on /v/, /a/, /k/, etc. to fit the interest of each board to hate on their hobby?

I did the 2nd one too, and said I'd cosplay/wear lolita later when I had money. Now I've realized that I probably wouldn't have fun cosplaying/wearing lolita anymore anyway.

No matter what you do, you will regret some decision you made. Don't sweat it, move on.

Pretty sure my life would be the same anyways, cosplay/lolita or not, I'd still be too sick to go to school or get a job.
This way, at least I'm entertained. Obvious that'd be different if I could buy my way into better health.
    >> Anonymous 10/11/11(Tue)02:06 No.5053041
Is this copypasta? Because I feel this would be way more appropriate on /a/ or /v/

Just how many 20-year olds DO have a great job, a family and a house to put them in?

Also I've met a lot of new friends through conventions, isn't that making friends in real life? I've also learned to be more social and gained self esteem, sewing skills and patience, isn't that like bettering myself? I even lost a lot of weight for cosplay.

Also I make new friends out of the nerd circles too because unlike most of the normal people living a balanced 9-to-5 life, I'm interesting.

But I've saved quite a bit money while furthering my education, spending time learning two new languages, getting fit while playing a buttload of vidya games and reading mango/watching animu.

    So, like, I'm some hybrid?
Also I completely disagree with the idea of buying a house and starting a family in your late teens/early twenties. That's more often than not a pretty bad idea that usually ends up in all sorts of trouble.

I'm a rich fucker and I don't want or need a job or a further family. I cosplay and study various careers just to spend my time. Your "ideal" life is for poorfags so you must be one.
