of that just seems like a difference in opinion between you and me.
Unfortunate, but oh well. I'm just glad DC is doing something new for a
change, even if it didn't have the smoothest transition. Despite the new
Grimdark 90's feel they're trying to push onto the reboot, most of the
best titles completely ignore that and are just extremely good books on
their own, though I get the feeling that there's very little I could say
to change your mind about it. To put it simply, the reboot sucks if
you're a continuityfag, but if you just like good fucking comics, it's
awesome.
Movies have never been DC's strong suit. This is
nothing new. The previous Nolan films hardly count because they were
completely spearheaded by the director without considerable regard to
the continuity or pleasing fans, which is what I think is his strongest
attribute with the franchise, but doesn't do well for a collective "DC
movie" identity for the movie franchises as a whole. Also unfortunate,
but again, nothing new.
I feel the only reason to not like the
new YJ is if you're still too hung up on the original comic, which is
kind of stupid because they've repeatedly make it clear that there's not
supposed to be a connection between the two anyway. The coming seasons
might get closer to the feel of the original comic, but if you're still
comparing the two, then you're just bound to be disappointed, I think.
I
mean, I'm sorry DC isn't doing everything perfectly now, but I think
they're still doing a pretty fucking good job with what they've got. I
still think there's plenty to look forward to. |
