So a commercial for this rinky-dink con coming up this weekend was on the television the other day and as laughable as it was, it made me wonder, are commercials for anime conventions common? I've never heard of this before so seeing it really threw me off, but have any of you seen a commercial for an anime convention? Was it one of those scripted and acted out commercials or was it just a lot of shots from previous years at the convention with someone talking over it? Pic semi-related.

>>5027043God damnit when I first saw that commercial for SakuraCon I nearly pissed in anger. That thing was just... horrid.
>>5027052>>5027043That's where the Girugamesh guy is from? That commercial.... holy shit.
>>5027038>are commercials for anime conventions common? No. But AUSA and Otakon did made commercials for anime conventions.>Was it one of those scripted and acted out commercials or was it just a lot of shots from previous years at the convention with someone talking over it? AUSA: Actually a parody of a old Arabian theme movie. Otakon: Unique that it had two different commercials pre and during Adult Swim on Cartoon Network.
I don't know if this technically counts as an ad (too tired to tell if it's the official ad for the con or just something made by Team FourStar) but Youmacon's promo ad this year is fucking hilarious:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJ93IrhwgGY
>>5027038I remember a few years back, the Motor City Comic Con in Detroit ran a few ads on the local UPN affiliate. They were shitty and basically just mentioned everything they could as fast as possible.

Some voice actors from ADV Films did radio ads for one of the cons in Houston a few years ago(can't remember which one). It was actually pretty cool.
