Have you been bullied for your love of anime/lolita?

Still remember the day some guy kept smacking me on my head for my love of ouji lolita. Called me and my friends lesbians because of it. Happened in middle school.

    Still can't let it go.

someone told me i had daddy issues because i cosplayed. i generally hide my power level anyway, so that's really the only thing i've heard.

Back in middle school I'd get harassed sometimes, but otherwise, I don't have any issues since I hide my power level.
    >> Sonic Boom! !ZGpyRoQe/M 10/02/11(Sun)01:35 No.5025380
I think I'm pretty lucky in that I'm not harassed about it...but I'm also not obnoxious about it.

I never got made fun of in high school (and I was even the type to walk around the mall in cat ears for a while) so I must have gone to the most laid back high school ever. People might have stared but that's about it. In my later high school years I was even good friends with some of the cheerleaders and jockish types.

Now I dress pretty typical. Just various nerdy tees and jeans. Outside of that, I keep my nerd-dom in the closet unless it's relevant to a conversation, so I don't get harassed about it much. As a matter of fact almost all my friends are non-nerds and they all think it's pretty cool.

In middle school I was bullied for liking pokemon (only by some people). I was really timid so I pretended to not like or even know anything about pokemon for a long time. Of course, now I don't give a fuck what people think. I'm not fanatical about it and I'm have "normal hobbies" and I'm working towards my major, so I'll like what I like, dammit.

don't know why they went to a convention if not to do things anime related. They can call me weeaboo all they want because people like that aren't going to bring me down.
    >> Anonymous 10/02/11(Sun)01:41 No.5025397
A lot. In highschool I was all into jayrawk and did not hide my power level concerning that. I was not much into anime at the time but was still made fun of for liking anime simply because for most of the kids in my school having any interest in Japan = loves anime.
When I was younger (elementary school) I was really into anime, though and was treated really badly for it, mostly by the boys. I once fainted in the hallway of my school and went to the hospital and for weeks the joke was that I had fainted because "someone had ripped my anime book".

Not really that bad, but still has made me really picky about who I like to be around and given me a few social phobias.

My goddamn best friend hates that I cosplay. He thinks its somehow bad for me... Unhealthy or something. If he comes to a con with me, he'll pull off my wigs and such.

That's the most flak I get, though.

ayup. At this point no one cares but I dont regret hiding it my first years of high school.

i didn't always have a strange hair color. not like it makes me any different anyway. anyone can dye thur hurr.
liking animu was normal enough in the high school i went to, but i didn't want to admit it because the people that did like it were obsessive neckbeards.

Oh and the few times I wore casual lolita to school or regular lolita when I had to go to a meetup or something right after school there was always a group of girls who would give me obviously fake, snooty compliments or just flat out say "what the fuck are you wearing?" to my face. I once had a girl say "only Japanese people would wear such weird shoes" to me about my RHS. When I told her they were designed by Vivienne Westwood and cost an arm and a leg to buy her face kind of went blank and she came back with something like "yeah, well, they're weird lol" or something like that.
    >> Anonymous 10/02/11(Sun)01:44 No.5025415
Op here. Wow you guys are lucky. Bitches in high school uploaded my lolita photos on their Facebook and made me popular. It was terrible.
