Drink

We went out to eat. It was fun and since I had little idea of who anyone was namewise I spoke to everyone and everyone was friendly.

When I think of /cgl/ meetups I think of the worst possible people in one area together but turns out they're the nicest most fun people to be around

eat, drink and be merry

on the flipside, the last non-con meetup in Toronto started at a board came cafe, then moved to Honest Ed's where we marvelled at all the deals, then down the street to Sneaky Dee's for tex-mex food.

This sunday's meetup will likely be more of the same, so I'm looking forward to it

Would a shy non-drinker fit in or should I give up and abandon hope?

I don't know how it is in other communities, but the seagulls I know are very welcoming, and drinking is a non-issue

Non-drinker, but not-really-shy anon here.

I went to the friday night AFest meetup with seagulls and had a blast. Chillan chattan pizzan, etc.
Weird that 4chan's got some pretty cool kids, but meeting with seagulls was much better than expected.

The one Toronto meet up I went to involved crepes and a trip to a thrift store. It was awesome, and every one was super nice.

I don't drink, and one of my favorite parts of cons is meeting new people. There are people out there for non-drinkers to meet and hang with.

I'm not shy but I don't drink. Also most cgl GATHERINGS that I go to everyone's drunk on arrival. But you should go. Making friends with people you have "Some" common ground with is always fun. but definitely try to reach out to other people~

I like meeting new faces, chatting it up with friends, and being loud and silly. One of my favorite gatherings so far for me.

I met a seagull one time.
We had Korean food, watched movies and cuddled.
I highly recommend it.

The meet ups are, for me, about meeting other seagulls, having conversation, and knowing some people for the rest of the con. And getting connections to room parties ain't half ba either.

You man up (in regards to the shyness). I don't drink really so I hang around with everyone. I strike up weeb conversation (because if you're meeting up at an anime con, you usually like...something). And then it goes from there.
