It seems like the point was that just quoting tons of memes without context is stupid and unfunny, which I can appreciate, but they did a terrible job of making that point.

My high school friends little brother is like this.

He was so young back then, trading pokemans with me. But now that he's older and in college and has discovered the internet, memes just repeatedly get posted to my news feed. It's as if I'm actually on his page. He considers himself a "troll" and says he trolled a person or something is a troll and I want to rip my hair out because he's not being a troll, just an annoying asshole. Funny thing is I think he doesn't like to go on 4chan.

Then later on in high school I was taking down some AIM usernames of acquaintances and this girl I used to be friends with but grew distant from gave me hers. She had become a KH/Gravitation/Kuroshit yaoi fanficwriting fangirl so I didn't want to hang out with her that much. Anyway, first thing I see when I add them onto AIM was "ANON YOU JUST LOST THE GAME ROFL XD~" It was embarrassing to see.

I think the most embarassing meme is "THE RULES". I have a couple people friended on facebook who browse 4chan/reddit. If I ever mention /cgl/ or /vp/ or /x/ then I guarantee I'll get a response from one of them

I was extremely excited about the Macy's Day Parade rickroll when I saw it that year though. I've watched that parade every year with my mom since I was a baby, and when they announced his name, I was like "Huh? Isn't that the Rickroll guy...?" Then he came out and I was in shock. Man, on a similar topic. I kept reading / watching about the 4chan panels up at Otakon. They actually looked quite fun, although... if I recall correctly (and I might be wrong about this considering I heard this from the 'supposed' offender) they were banned right? I was told by a friend that he was the reason why 4chan panels do not happen at Otakon anymore. Something about dressing up as a Habbo Hotel afro goon and punching a furry in the face.

Actually its more that they caught on to Reddit, not 4chan.

Reddit has been mainstream for a LONG time now, so it was only a matter of time. You can also tell its Reddit by how dated the memes are ..
lolcats and shoop da whoop are at least 5 yrs old now, and definitely no longer relevant.

They may still be relevant to Reddit however, they seem to catch on to memes after they've been dead here for years.
