I haven't seen anything about it (because I don't really frequent here), but what does everyone think of the "Cosplay for a Cause" Calendar, as well as the cosplayers in it. Also, does anyone have any scans of the actual calendar? Thanks

Don't know much about the calendar but this "Cause" contacted me and my event asking us to help out and to me it just seems like a way for some cosplayers to feel like there doing something useful with out doing anything at least now there are making a Calendar there doing something to help the Japanese red cross the photos from this look ok not sure who will by it. I won't be but there trying so some credit there

fame whores trying to make it look like they care for people besides themselves when in fact they don't. If you want to help out donate money to a actual charity that you know will use your money the right way.

Foreigners giving 'aid' to other countries has always struck me as morally suspect. It's just another form of imperialism, really. It's especially disturbing when the aid is to countries that don't have stable and non-corrupt governments. I'll even go so far as to call it 'evil'. I know you guys don't mean to do harm, but you're actually harming the people you're helping. Japan doesn't need your help. And those countries that do need help, don't need your help.

They wanted to make a cosplay calendar to get attention. It was a way to bring in more customers to Lindze's friend's photography business and it also seems like their attempt to re-establish themselves in the hobby.
B4 you whiteknight consider these 2 facts:
    • So you want to make a cosplay calendar? Well you'd better do it as a non-profit or you'd get sued by the companies that own those characters.
    • So you're really concerned with using your cosplay hobby as a way to donate money to charity? I bet of those 12 girls in the calendar would be raising way more $ if they each SOLD THE COSTUMES instead of posing in them.

Wow. When you put it that way it all makes sense.

Japan is a rich industrialized nation that has more than enough resource to care for its people. If these weeaboos were actually concerned with charity for a cause they'd be trying to raise money for impoverished nations with REAL problems.

Just because you're a cosplayer doesn't mean that you need to orientate everything you with Japan.

military has tons of money, we don't need to do any kind of charity work for it.
