Would I be able to get some regular fashion advice here for non-cosplay outfits?
    >> Anonymous 09/04/11(Sun)22:55 No.4929419
    Depends.

You might be better off at >>>/fa/

Todd has a huge image that has a bunch of "rules" per se that he likes to post often.
    Maybe he's around.

In the meantime, check out >>/fa/

I tried \fa.. like some bitches starting fighting in it, and others called me fat and shit. No good advice at all except the "Go to forever21" typical stuff. :C

/fa/ would be better. depends really, /cgl/ isn't completely opposed to it. sometimes we have casual fashion threads from anime series like pic related (vocaloid).
    >> Anonymous 09/04/11(Sun)22:58 No.4929429
\fa\ told you to go to Forever21?

    That just seems...like a not \fa\ store.

\fa\ is honestly full of hipsters and guys who aren't fashionable but spout the same advice over and over.
    >> Anonymous 09/04/11(Sun)23:03 No.4929454
    Alright alright alright.

OP, what advice are you seeking?
If /fa/'s being a douche, we're the next board. What do you want to know?
    >> Anonymous 09/04/11(Sun)23:04 No.4929455
if you're looking for asian inspired outfits, like mori-girl or whatnot, i'm sure people here would love to help you.

i've never seen a regular casual clothing thread here though, but i guess it couldn't hurt to try.

OP here, I'm going to repost what i posted in /fa :)

i have a problem. i have too many clothes, and a lot of those clothes are from high school. now i'm a sophomore in uni and i really want to update my style.

I like dresses, cardigans, colored tights, cute accessories and flats. it's funny but a lot of the stuff i have doesnt even reflect that, i always spend most money on books and such.

most of the things i have are the regular abercrombie\hollister type thing, and i would really like to move away from that.

what are some good essentials? and also what are good stores to go to that aren't too expensive but still "/fa/"?

sorry if this question gets asked all the time, but i looked back and saw nothing except male advice and guys asking questions about cool coats and such.

    P.S. For \cgl:

I really like gyaru fashion from lurking japanese fashion sites... I'm not very knowledgeable about it, but it would be fun to try a new fashion style :)

    Pic: an outfit i like.

    OP again:

I meant to say I have loads from high school, and I want to get rid of those, donate, and re-do my wardrobe with things that really suit me, but I am kinda really bad at knowing what looks good. Crap sense of fashion. :c
    >> Anonymous 09/04/11(Sun)23:10 No.4929477
Forgive me if im repeating /fa/ but H&M's dresses are the bees knees and forever 21's accessories are to boot

Banana republic has great classic pieces. Target has cheap basics like tights and leggings. Yesstyle.com has asian clothes from brands you can't get anywhere else outside of asia, and forever21 has super cute accessories for cheap.

I have like loads of denim shorts from when I used to wear those constantly with school shirts or those moose shirts. Now I just really like dresses, skirts... feminine things, and shorts just don't make me feel pretty at all.

There is a dress I'm looking at online right now, doing a lot of online window shopping since its Labor Day sales time here, might buy something tonight or tomorrow.

If you have stuff that is clearly from a mall-brand: A&F, Hollister, Aeropostale etc, that clearly says *BRAND* anywhere (sleeves, ass) Toss those.

Get a good bra, it helps any outfit look better :) The girls need to be perky lol.. Also think about investing in classic pieces of great quality.

    - Bag
    - 3 pairs of really nice shoes (Heels, flats)
    - 2 good quality dresses (Not forever21, think Banana Republic or something, good suggestion from before)
    - Stockings that are more than 5$ and don't run easily
    - Having atleast clear, well cared for nails will make any girl look 3452345 times classier.

By the way, dresses and tights and cute cardigans are probably the best thing any girl can wear. It can be varied too. Short dress, longer over-wear, cute flats and tights. Or longer dress, cute boots and a coat. Or even a long tunic, a belt, statement jewelry and cute shoes.

For gyaru fashion, try looking at everyday gyaru on livejournal, and post once you feel comfortable doing it. The girls there will give you more gyaru advice, rather then basic girl advice here.

The world seriously needs more girls who care about how they look, I am so tired of seeing jeans and hoodies on my campus.
    >> Anonymous 09/04/11(Sun)23:56 No.4929651
    gyaru? really..
dye your hair blond, tan orange, and get alien contacts lol.
why do you like that fashion?!
    >> Anonymous 09/05/11(Mon)00:01 No.4929669
Don't worry so much, wear what you want. Why is this so damn difficult for you that you need to ask strangers on fucking 4chan
    >> Anonymous 09/05/11(Mon)00:24 No.4929766
Every thread I post has great advice then it just goes down to people complaining that I posted it. Blah, you negative people need a coffee or something, chill out :)

Going to buy some cute stuff from yesstyle I think, the brand is 59 seconds.

    Yesstyle is ridiculously priced.

You can get a lot of the clothes there a lot cheaper on Taobao

This is one of the brands they carry, OrangeBear

    Try thrift stores!
    >> Anonymous 09/05/11(Mon)01:08 No.4929948
isn't yesstyle infamous for false advertising?

there's a whole image macro dedicated to the supposedly amazing jackets they sell, and the unfortunate souls who bought them and look terrible in them

You win all my internets. I didn't know you could get those brands on taobao.

Also, when I'm not losing weight, I'm an etsy addict.

I highly recommend having at least a few custom tailored basics. There are plenty of companies that make gorgeous stuff... I currently am coveting stuff from this shop, but I only own a bag from them.
