I know at least a couple tripfags have kept those names from being former RPfags.

When I first came to /cgl/ I didn't know about the whole "WE ARE ANONYMOUS! NAMES ARE FOR LOSERS" so I just started namefagging as Maguma, as that was my cosplay.com name. After a decent amount of receiving trollan, I gave myself a trip. Changed it later after an old tripfriend generated a tripcode for me that had my name inside it.

Why did I do it? Because it said namefield. Why did I get a tripcode? Because I want my statements to have credibility. Whether other board members care for or against that is up to them but I chose to do so.

Besides, just because you have a name doesn't mean that you're after fame or will receive it either. Attention comes from only one source: others.

I originally got mine as when /vp/ first came to be there was a thread in the first 10 or so; 'claim your Pokémon trip'. Thought why not and made the Trip.

I would of gotten rid of it within the week if I hadn't started to stream play throughs which got quite popular and had a demand. I kept up with these streams for about 3 months and after that I was pretty renowned on /vp/ as a cool cat so I decided to keep it.

By the time I got bored of /vp/ I had got used to having a trip and just loved the convenience of having it. The hate was a bit annoying but I soon realised the only people who are all

I first came to this board to discuss local cons I'd be attending. Meetups were a common thing to be organised and I just thought it'd be better to have some sort of identity to refer to rather then saying "Hi I'm that anon that said this and this in that thread... remember? Yeah that's me."

I've been known as Martyr for nearly 8 years. It began with a band called Straylight Run and their song "Sympathy for the Martyr". It was around that time that I realized my stupidity as a kid and took on the nickname Martyr as kind of a joke. I'm also the first person to always volunteer to do something and put my neck on the line or do the thing no one wants to do. In essence, I have this name because I used to think everything was everyone else's fault and now take the blame upon myself usually.

I got mine simply because of an incident where my friend was talking to me about me and it was awkward.

It's kind of my cosplay alias or whatever. Mirror. Mirroring characters. Yeah, lame. I know.

I had to create a username to sign up for a LAN party, before this point all of my usernames ever had either been 'Frankii' or something crap like 'Frankii_xx', so I decided to make a new one...I honestly don't know how I came up with 'Pirate Toaster', but it seems to have stuck and I use that as a username pretty much everywhere now...

It's a portmanteau of Unadorned Spirit, which I used to go by but figured was too much of a mouthful.

Used to post under just "Jessie", which is my name. Someone pretending to be Jessica Nigiri started tripping under "Jessie". I changed it to "Jessie//AnimefagAngel" because AnimeAngel is my cosplay name and a name I've had since I was 11. I think it's pretty dumb now.. but it's what I'm known by.

Masa's been a nickname I've had that coincidentally came up in life for different reasons, from school for being too white to be a Mexican, to online weeaboo pseudonyms like Masahiro that just casually got shortened to Masa.

Plus there's a Mexican footballer named el 'Maza' and people would call me that 'cause we had the same last name. I couldn't escape this name even if I wanted to. :l

Came to /v/ from /m/, for the Pokemon General threads before /vp/ was made. Metagross happened to be my favorite pokemon at the time, so I started tripping as /m/etagross.

And then I got tired of using that trip, because there was no reputation or anything attached to it, so no loss or gain using it anyway.

Then I became interested in Minecraft, and made a new trip so I could viral one of my projects on /v/. I won't say who I am, but I will say that my name is based off of a character from JSRF. I also only ever use that trip for Minecraft General threads.

I like films with zombies and I prefer it now with the two Zoms, rather than the single Zom I used to use a year and a half or so ago. That and I found out someone used the trip Zom on here before me.

Picked the name because its one of the characters I cosplay, and I actually really like the name.

Well let me tell you my story. I was originally known in /cgl/ as Anonymous of College Park, MD when I first posted on /cgl/. For the most part until January 2010 I namefagged on the various boards to indicate I'm an anonymous channer from College Park, MD. For some reason I gained a reputation in /cgl/ for giving out helpful advice, I don't know why.

I was actually outed twice as Jkid by a another known tripfag Kasai first during Otakon 2009 and the second time while I made the Katsucon 16 Progress Threads (which I eventually made a photodump thread for the convention after the convention was over.)

Eventually I adopted the name for posting in /cgl/. In other contexts and boards of 4chan, I usually post anonymously since January 2010.

For the origin of Jkid, it started with Starkid from another website, which changed to Kidsz, then I added a J because I was into Japanese culture and anime at one time. I removed the s and z letters from it and that's how you got Jkid.

I use to post in the /v/ pokemon general threads, and I had a bunch of Charizard reaction pics as I left /v/ for /co/, I kept the name and posted there for a while til I wanted to get back into cosplay.

Nothing in special, I was just tired of most of the nicknames being something taken out of somewhere else and thefore being like 30 people using the nickname, so I decided to try come invent some weird word.... then I googled it and it actually existed... but meh

mmm I was anon for a couple years until I started going into TC last year which is where my name, CrimsonLotus, is from. People would sometimes mention me here when I didn't actually trip so I figured I would namefag. Then B-O-Y made me trip when he used my name in a thread or two, and Hobbes gave me my trip from a generator. So now it's CrimsonBrotus.

Now here is why I picked that name: I wanted something different from the name I use for cosplay and everywhere else aaaand I was really into Sengoku Basara. I also like every Yukimura Sanada character I have ever read/watched, Basara being no different. In a Basara manga, Yukimura is called a guren, or a crimson lotus (pic related). That is also the name of his theme in the anime. So I went with that. Kinda simple I guess.

I kept posting food threads in here, most pictures I posted were cakes.

Tofu comes from "Devious Tofu" which is the handle I use on pretty much every website. Devious Tofu came about in middle school when I wanted a new AIM screen name. It's really random and doesn't really have any significance.

I used to be just a namefag when I came on here, and went simply by Pantsu. Lo and behold, there is another person that went by that, too, and one day when someone mistook her for me, she complained about it in one of those rant threads, and I just decided to get a trip, and extend my name to what it was shortened for. It caused some drama, and I wasn't gonna fight her over it.
The term "Pantsu Nugeru Mon" comes from a Rin Kagamine song named that, and the literal translation of it means "I can take off my panties." I guess I chose that because it was a term my ex boyfriend dubbed as being the song that describes me. Also, since I cosplay Mio, there is one episode where she falls, and people see her pantsu/shimapan, so I went on a crazy spree and bought five pairs of shimapan. Friends from then on noted my liking to them even more so, which eventually led them to calling me Pantsu.

I really hate the nickname Moogie by this point. It was a name spawned off another endearing nickname that stuck with some of my irl friends. If I recall correctly, one of said friends posted some silly self-trolling in a thread or something way back in like '07 ('08? hell I don't remember anymore) and I responded under this moniker so he'd know it was me teasing him. It came on again in a silly Gurren Lagann thread with some others, I made pals, it stuck. Goddamnit.

It derived from a nickname (B-Ry) that my friends started calling me when Family Guy came back with new episodes. My name also being Brian meant my friends had nothing better to call me. So a couple years ago, I used my favorite guy name (Blake) and Ry was obviously Ryan. And it just stuck. I still use it for online, and fully use it for any fashion related stuff I do.

tldr; I fucking like it.

I'm Kuro because Kuro means black and my hair is black, and I wear a lot of black...

I didn't ever intend to be a tripfag, to tell you the truth. I was posting a bunch of stories in a weeaboo horror thread once and another Anon was telling a story at the same time. It got really confusing between the two of us, so I used a trip to distinguish who was saying what.

My name, as much as I hate to admit, comes from an inside joke involving Twilight. My friend had left a battered old copy that she didn't want anymore at my house and during a BBQ with my friends, we decided to use it to feed a fire that was going in a pit to cook marshmallows over. My friend Sarah was picking apart stupid sentences as she tossed them into the flames and the one we kept laughing at was 'PASTEL CONFECTIONS'. It was late at night, where everything seems 100x funnier than it should be and we kept repeating it.
So I ended up using that as my name on deviantArt. Then I used it on /cgl/, too. Plus, I love pastel colors. So it seemed fitting.

I wanted to be a tripfag so I wouldn't get mixed up with other anons.
I have this name cause it's an incredibly short abbreviation of a favorite riddle of mine, and I like riddles.
And for the record, almost no one knows about me.

We were all given the nickname of a different shooter (large cocktail shot). And I got Rapsberry Shortcake, and so became Shortcake, because I am small, cute and sweet.

Well not that I actually post here much or have anything important to contribute, but I name fag because I think the idea of being anonymous is stupid, I mean a good amount of people who post the most outrageous stuff on here would never say or act any of that mess outside of this board or website in general. And I for one am not like that, if I say something I want people to know I said it and not hide behind a computer let alone an anonymous image board.
