Once upon a time, I saw Vic at a con. He was being trailed by a cathedral-length train of giggly, annoying fangirls. I was sitting behind Steve Bennett's Artist Alley booth, eating lunch and waiting for my next panel. He saw me sitting behind the booth, got real excited, shouted my name, ran from the fangirls, tripped over all of Steve's stuff, and picked me up for a hug.

He said he remembered signing my clipboard at the Risembool Ranger's picnic at A-kon (which was a good three years prior to this particular con) and asked how I was doing. We chatted for a bit, much to the disappointment of his other fangirls, then he went off to get rest before the RR dinner.

Then I sat back down, continued eating, and Steve introduced me to some guy from the industry.

I met Vic Mignogna in 2006 at MTAC. It was my first con, and in retrospect I was a total n00b and probably borderline weeaboo.

I very poorly cosplayed Edward Elric (have since majorly improved) and was SUPER excited to meet Ed's VA. I attended the FMA voice actor panel and did the autograph session, but my favorite moment was the cosplay contest. Something had possessed me to enter a skit with my Dad dressed as Scar. Surprisingly, we got picked for Judges' Choice because everyone was impressed my dad cosplayed with me (he can be seen in the pic exiting the stage).

Vic presented my award, an Anime Network shirt and DVD, and gave me a hug. I still have the shirt ^^ I've met Vic again at two different cons, and I still think it's cool he remembers me and my Dad. I've got mixed feelings about Vic in how he presents and conducts himself, but for all the drama and unsavory things about him, Vic is a very nice person who does care and remember his fans. I've grown up since my first con so I'm not such a rabid Ranger and I don't obsess over Vic or anything.

I've been happy with the experiences I've had, since it kinda made my first con even better, but by now I've decided to let other fans attend his panels. Too much fangirling and not enough content for my liking.

When I lived on the east coast I saw him once or twice at cons after reading up on all the drama /cgl/ had about him. I hated his guts for all the shit I had heard about him and warned allllll my friends about what a big prick he is.

Then when I moved to the west coast I ended up meeting him through a friend completely unrelated to anime. Vic is a super nice guy who just wants to talk about Star Trek all day and have nice cigars. He's never done anything to make anyone I know say something negative about him but maybe it's different in the animu scene, idk. As a regular friend that I chill with sometimes, I really like him.

He's here at FanExpo this weekend. Never followed what he did or knew who he was except from the stories here on cgl. Apparently he was such a big deal so I watch him for a while to see what the fuss was about

I remember at an Akon several years ago I was really tired but we didn't have a room so I crawled under this table to go to sleep. Last year at EXPcon, I went to the Troy Baker panel cause I'm a fan of his. Later in the panel, Troy tells us how he is friends with Vic McDerpadick and calls Vic on his phone and puts the call on speaker. He invites him to the panel room to TALK A LITTLE BIT. When Vic came into the room, Troy said, "Here he is!" and all the girls screamed fucking bloody murder...more for vic than for Troy. Then Vic gets a mic and talks FOREVER. This past year at MTAC me and my two friends (M and S) and some girl I didn't know (T) were going to S's room to chill out there for a minute or two. I had a friend who's mother had passed away in the hospital a few weeks before a big convention we had planned to attend. It was going to be our first con we stayed in with our own room the whole weekend and we'd be waiting for a whole year. My friend was really heartbroken because she hadn't had a chance to have a few moments alone with her mother to really say goodbye and tell her how much she loved her. She wound up staying home and insisted I go to the convention to take lots of pictures and have a great time to tell her all about it. I ran into Mr. Mignogna out of chance in an elevator and he asked me why I looked so sad. I explained the whole situation and he asked me if I had a picture of my friend's mom. I looked through my phone and sure enough I had one we had taken before the homecoming dance. Mr. Mignogna tells me to come with him and we go to his hotel room. He tells me to enjoy some pay per view movies while he takes my phone into the bedroom of his suite. I'm not sure what he did but he stayed in that room and presumably studied that picture for at least three hours. He comes out with rather misty eyes and asks me to call my friend and tell her someone special wants to talk to her. I quickly oblige imagining him speaking to her in one of his famous voices thinking she'll be thrilled but my heart nearly fell out of my chest when I heard him answer the phone in a perfect imitation of my friend's mother's voice. She had been in bed crying all day and from what I could hear she was telling Mr. Mignogna all the things she wanted to tell her mom. He finished by reciting Goodnight Moon to her until she fell asleep and then handed me the phone. I gave him a big hug and told him how much it all meant to me and sure enough my friend was up at the convention the next day with a big smile on her face. Vic Mignogna has an amazing heart.

My older sister really wanted to but didn't get to go because of summer school and I forgot why my mom (she's a little asian lady who is a bro and watches some anime when we kids put it on) came that day instead of my older brother. Both of their birthdays are coming up verrry soon. I don't really give a shit about VAs but I thought it'd be a nice gesture to get autographs for the two. I line up for the lady that voices Tohru from Fruits Basket (sis's favorite animu at the time), mom lines up for someone else during the autograph session. We meet up and she shows me autographs from Vic Mignoganog (she had no idea who the fuck he is and I didn't know shit about him other than he voices Ed but no one in my family watches FMA so whatever). Turns out she also had a cell-phone photo taken with him at his table, his arm around her, I guess maybe she thought he was a micro-celebrity. My dad made her delete the pic, lol.

Chill bro, pretty sure my sister was legal at the time, not that he'd know anyway, and that comment about the heart was just to say that yeah, she still have that piece of paper (although stored away since she's not into animu any more). I just meant that it was weird to have my mom meet him only to find out he was such a zealot afterwards.
