So, uh, /cgl/. Newbie here, what are the types of lolita, and where would be the best places to buy good lolita clothing?

I'd suggest going to hellolace.com for info on different loli styles.

Taobao is good for offbrand dresses and items such as jewelery and stockings

Mbok is a site like ebay where you can find secondhand loli, along with EGL comm sales.

For Taobao and Mbok you'll need a shopping service to buy from them, but EGL has reviews on different ones you can use

Not OP, but kind of a newbie question, so I'll ask here, rather than open up another thread.

Where would the best places to buy cheap(er) classic lolita clothing? I've had a look on bodyline, but most of it seems to be sweet.
Am I just not looking hard enough?

Somewhere that hopefully has a website in english, too...

Another newbie here, I have broad shoulders. What styles should I try to do while still maintaining myself as a lolita?

Styles? I doubt it matters, go for whichever you prefer, I'd say it's more what you wear, than the style.

I have fairly broad shoulders, myself, so I'm interested in what I can do to help make it a little less noticable.
My hips are quite wide, too, nearly 11" wider than my waist, though I'm unsure if this would be a problem, given the way skirts/dresses look in lolita.

Taobao (like chinese ebay stores, kinda) has lots of cute things at lower prices if you don't mind waiting for it to be custom made. You need a shopping service though. here's a list of good shops & there's some shopping services listed at the top too:

Oh, no, I don't mind waiting.
    Thanks much for the links

You're welcome! I usually plan my taobao store orders 2-3ish months before I want to wear the thing just in case (usually you get it a lot sooner than that, about a month and a half but sometimes there are delays).

Oh, alright :) I'll keep that in mind for when I'm, ordering anything.
