His design is actually simple it's just that.... well for some reason people seem to hover towards FF instead of Drakengard. Thank Hatsuu though, she made me re-awaken my love for Drakengard after mentioning that Nier was in the same universe as it.

I think it's because for the adult swim staff, particularly those working on a cartoon modeled around heavy metal, cosplay (especially non-canon cosplay) is something of an alien concept to them.
Like even for Black Metal (which is heavy on theatrics), they don't necessarily try to ape a tv show/movie/video game

OP, Tabitha is amazing and you would surely get some fanboys who knew who you were.

ZnT isn't obscure, but it's not as popular as it used to be. Hardly anybody cosplays it, or at least not anymore, but if you do people will likely recognize it. I only started watching/reading it in 2009, and since then I've cosplayed Louise at SDCC and AX. I got lots of recognition but have never seen another ZnT cosplayer in real life.

The best part is that the fans who notice you freak out that someone is actually cosplaying their tsun-tsun waifu and it's not 2007.

Always wanted to attempt Tanabe [pink vest] or Fee [gray shirt on the left]... but I think I'd need to actually get a group together to pull it off successfully.

This is probably not my most obscure idea, but it's definitely at the top of my list.
