My first actual lolita purchase was this petticoat. I know F+F is usually pretty reliable but when I got it it hadn't been sewn properly and would have started to fall apart after maybe 2 or 3 wears, so I ended up returning it to them. But not until after I insisted on trying it on under several "loliable" skirts I had and feeling pretty stupid with all that poof. It looked pretty awful.

The fabrics and the lace in particular are of a low, cheap quality which is just made more obvious by the abundance thereof and the colour scheme. This sort of design can really be done well, but it needs nicer fabrics and better construction. The faux corset and cheap materials are just painfully tacky and make it look like a halloween costume rather than a nice dress.

The biggest rage factor for me in this picture is his smile. Either smile for real or keep your face still, because that weird half-grimace is incredibly off-putting.

See the copious amounts of cheap lace, the shiny (not as shiny as other satins at least) red fabric, the lacy maxipad on her head with roses that don't quite match and the 6 inch heels?
