Diavolo is helpful and does awesome fucking cosplay. None of the others are up on the lists in this thread, but if they were, I'd probably only include WF in them because he does excellent posts about Western clothing and equipment. I like the others well enough, but when it comes to actually contributing info and content to the board, usually whatever quality posts they have are drowned out by posts of people describing the burning in their loins for them, which is annoying.

There's always been some sort of recurring circlejerky /cgl/ "project" at any phase of new tripfags. They're annoying, but not as annoying as the newfag trips who are constantly pining for a spot in them while pretending that they don't want to be. That constant vying to be considered one of the "cool kids" is what irritates me the most about new tripfags. Otherwise, you get used to it. They're pretty easy to ignore.

I trip because I like the sense of community that comes from it. I've met a lot of people on /cgl/, and even met some of them in real life, and they are awesome people. I doubt I'd have met them and had such a good time with them if I hadn't started tripfagging.

When you trip, you have a secure code. You're being over protective over your name. For the most part I post anonymously. I post under my name if I am answering questions about a costume I made, posting progress (since they'll know it's me anyway) or in the same token, self posting a picture of one of my costumes. This is actually a pretty fascinating discussion thread. Anyone mind if I post a few cosplay pictures, or should I leave it be?

To contribute to the discussion at hand, I've had a trip for so long that I just feel strange dropping it. I feel I don't contribute much beyond a few cosplay pictures and references for cosplay, but I also feel I don't disturb the board too much either, so I suppose it balances itself out. It just feels unnatural to switch to Anonymous after several years- not that there's anything wrong with Anon, I just started tripping carelessly one day and feel compelled enough to continue posting that way.

You're not here for the attention or to be acknowledged, you're just sort of there. With a name. Like Jessie and Tim. If you're gonna have a name you need to be able to contribute more than your name, otherwise it'll really just give people a bad impression on you.

Trips traditionally had to earn a certain amount of fame before they were eligible to trip. This could be good or bad recognition, but acension to tripfaggotry was more respected.

It's honestly not that hard to be helpful here. It can be as easy as pointing someone in the right direction or bouncing ideas off of someone to help them come up with a better method. Even asking questions always leads to helpful answers. I wish this place was more helpful, and it's already pretty helpful, but cgl does have really bad stigma. Unfortunately it's really the only decent place to go for cosplay related stuff. The good costuming boards look down on cosplayers. It would be great if this place got some good janitors that kept it in line, but the powers at be like reading the drama here too much. In the end, it's up to us the posters to regulate the board and be personally responsible for our actions.

Until people stop being selfish assholes with giant vendettas, this place will only be what it could be. You don't need a site with drama to prove that you aren't a play pin for babies.

PS, I just wanna say that I love Hatsuu because I have gotten sooooo many artbooks from her helpful threads. I love Nova because she gives love to the petite flat chested girls <3
