    33 KB Corset Training Anonymous 08/08/11(Mon)18:21 No.4824727
I know some of you seagulls will got to any lengths to look as much like the characters you are portraying as possible. Anime characters often have those almost unrealistic, perfect hourglass figures. That being said, have any of you ever looked into or tried corset training? If you've tried it, before and after pics?
    >> Anonymous 08/08/11(Mon)19:52 No.4825174
When I got my first Timeless Trends corset, my bf discovered his latent corset/waist-training fetish, and for a month, I wore it 6+ hours every day and had hot, crazy sex every one of those days. I was very close to closing the corset, having started with a 4 inch gap in the lacing, when I noticed that I could barely eat any food without becoming uncomfortably full - it worked like an external lapband. On the one hand - yay! I'm gonna lose weight. On the other - damnit, I can't get proper energy anymore because my stomach's too small. It did make my waist slightly smaller even without it on (and with it on, 5+ inches smaller), but it also was starting to make me winded easily - even without it on. Waist training, if you really want a difference in your waist, WILL affect your internal organs and eventually the diameter of your ribcage. If you waist train for 6 months+ those changes might become semi-permanent. Mine went away within a week or two, because they had only started happening. If you're thinking about doing this, you should really know this in advance. Also keep in mind that to get a change in waist size, you're committing yourself to multiple hours of a lot of discomfort, every day, for months. IMO, it's not worth it for a cosplay.

Would the same things happen if you wear your corset below 5 inches of reduction?
    >> Anonymous 08/08/11(Mon)19:59 No.4825200
well, it isn't good for anyone that enjoys breathing.

also, the feeling of your internal organs getting pushed around is really very nauseating. you can't pinpoint which organs they are, but you know *something* isn't where it used to be before you put on the corset
    >> Anonymous 08/08/11(Mon)19:59 No.4825202
I can't even bend at the waist properly in a corset... I pretty much have to take a full minute and bend very strangely to pick things up off the ground... it makes me feel like an old person.

In my experience, corsets are great on the back when you're standing and walking, but waist training would mean wearing one to work under my clothes. I just have a retail job, but it would get in the way. I can't think what would happen if I tried to wear it to my old, more physical job. And >>4825174 How the hell did you fuck in one without destroying the boning with hip/waist movements?
    >> Anonymous 08/08/11(Mon)20:08 No.4825248
    >>4825202

No offense, but you've probably gotten a badly made one if you can't bend at the waist. The good ones use springsteel or something similar so that you can move fairly normally in them but still have the support/retention of metal boning.

    LOL this thread.

Well, waist training means you should have a custom made corset. If you are hurting yourself from it, arent eating, etc, you are doing it wrong. It is a SLOW process after the initial 'squishness' factor comes in. You also do have to change your deit to avoid thing that would make you bloat. If you try to tighten it too much too fast you will cause actual damage.
    >>4825174
You really did it quite badly. You tried to close it too fast. You shoudlnt HAVE that much discomfort.

Dude, bunch a part of you clothes up and lay on them for an extended period of time and sit up. Look at where the clothes were against your skin. Garaunteed you'll have marks just like those "corset marks" on your skin.

They're not permanent and anything pressed against your skin for a long period of time will do that.

Get your panties out of the wad they're in and calm down.

If you're complaining of a corset hurting, or being uncomfortable....you're doing it wrong. A corset--particularly a waist-training corset--is a garment that needs to be custom fitted to the wearer. Trying to 'speed up' the process by wearing a size too small or lacing too tightly too quickly will cause injury.

I myself have corset trained in the past, and I'm considering doing it again. I haven't had any issues eating what I want (I tend not to eat things that make me bloat anyway. That means no carbonated drinks, oatmeal, etc.), and I've never felt any pain or discomfort, nor had any trouble moving around.

Of course, corset training isn't a weight-loss fix--you're just pushing body tissue around a bit. If you want to actually lose weight and look fitter, diet and exercise is necessary.

There should be loops in the center. It will be obvious because the rest is X's besides that, and it is at your waist. Pull on them. The X's SHOULD be Over under over under like both sides of the X of an over X are on the top. You pull on those towards the middle, pull the loops more, then make a bow. If it is hard to understand, youtube it. Many peopel show this.

Fucking in one was....not easy. If your corset has spiral steel boning, it will bend and twist a good deal without being ruined (IMO, flat steel boning is the WORST. Worse than plastic. Ugh.), but you can't bend at the waist much in most directions (to the person who said otherwise - spiral steel will bend a little at the waist, but THAT'S going to damage your corset, and also means it's likely too loose). On my back was easiest for me, but we ended up doing it doggy style most of the time, which entailed a lot of upper body strength on my part as I had to hold myself at the exact angle for the fucking to still be good, while not causing too much strain on my be-corsetted torso. Sort of like a plank position, where you use your abs to not let your ass stick out. But now I can do it, and being able to fuck in a steel-boned corset is a DAMN marketable skill.

To everyone who saying that I did it wrong because there should be no discomfort when waist-training....ummm...are we all clear on what we're talking about here? We're MOVING AND SHRINKING BONES AND ORGANS. Shit's gonna be uncomfortable bro. I grant you that the fact that I was using an off the rack corset, instead of a custom one, contributed to some of the day-to-day discomfort of wearing the thing and that perhaps I went faster than I should have, but if you didn't experience any change in appetite or breathing, any discomfort at all, you weren't waist training, because the definition of waist training IS shrinking those organs and cramping them uncomfortably in by making the ribcage smaller.
    >> dexcat 08/08/11(Mon)23:11 No.4826079
I've done corset training, I don't have pictures but I went from a 36 inch waist to a 33 inch waist when not wearing a corset. I love them, I have 3 over busts, 1 under bust and 1 half bust. I'm not much of a cosplayer, more of a goth, I love making my own clothes and this board is wonderful

There's a difference. If you're moving organs that drastically, you've gone past what's considered healthy waist training. An inch is about as far as anyone should go.

You shouldnt be waist training in an off the rack corset. If you are getting pain from your corset, you are doing it wrong. Yes, you are moving your ribs closer, but when you do it properly, it is slowly. When it starts hurting, it means you are having it too tight. Organs are not squished as much as you think, it is mainly your stomach really.Your lungs are were your breasts are, so they shouldnt be squished. Now deep breathes will be harder because that is your diaphragm, but normal breathing should be easy.

The MOST discomfort you should be getting is from bloating when you eat through out the day. Anything else means something is wrong. You probably got your pressure points bothered if it is hurting besides that.

If you just want to go down 1-2 inches (the typical reduction given by just wearing it) then go for TT. But if you want to actually waist train, get one that is made for it. You should really get one custom made for your body. You can try to use TT for it, but if you arent that 'standard' used, you may find it harder to close it after a while. The quality is good though.

A good, quality corset will cost you a pretty, shiny penny (or a few thousand of them).

I'm into the whole Steampunk thing and had a corset professionally made by the lady who is also making my Steampunk wedding dress.

Now, training your body to be deformed is not something anyone should do, but corsets themselves are awesome and take a bit of skill to get use to. Like breathing. That's a good skill.
