I bought a orange wiffle bat for my first Ness cosplay which I'm planning to improve on so I want to make it look cooler. Help me decide which is better or even give me some suggestions?

    A) Wrap white bandages around the body of the bat and use one of them black electrical tape/sports tape for the grip
B)Tie bandages around the grip, spray paint the body black

And what other methods are there to get the striped shirt Ness has? I tried fabric paint last time which ended up with me buying both blue and yellow paints and a white shirt because the blue paint couldn't cover the yellow shirt properly... :/

When do you need the shirt? Because Fangamer is going to be restocking their Ness shirts possibly in September. Remember to check back, or you can sign up for their mailing list.

    September is too late :/
And doesn't it cost like $50

you should have layered the blue paint on the yellow shirt otherwise the blue will turn out green. I use acrylic paint (artist kind like liquitex) and an acrylic textile medium and mix the two together. after it dries, do another layer if some parts are still poking through green. then heat set it.

Nah, you're thinking of the Awesomeness combo pack, which was the Ness shit, hat and a button set. The shirt should be around $30. Sorry that it'll be too late, though.

My previous attempt already cost a lot so I'm going to stay away from fabric painting his shirt again :<

And how many layers did you do before it covered up?

I love seeing Ness. I want to cosplay Paula but I am a tall big breasted woman.

I did a dress and only 2 layers. It took a while though, you need a lot of patience if you want straight lines. Regular acrylic paint is about $5 for liquitex/basics at Michael's, and you'll want 2 bottles just in case. Then the acrylic medium should be around $8.

There are much better techniques, but those involve more high-tech equipment and also more money.

I think I'll just bite the bullet and get shirtness :/
Should be able to make it for the EOY one at least

I used fabric paint only so maybe that's why even after putting layers on, it wouldn't work

Be careful, mine shrunk in the wash. It's why I'll be getting another one, too. Probably in a men's size this time so I can crossplay properly.

    Ah, thanks for the tip
Guess I'll just size up then alter it in if needed
