I went to London Anime Con for a laugh because some friends were going.
Apparently they "sold out" of tickets, but when I went it was hardly full. The stalls were boring, everything was packed into a small space and the wait to get it to show your ID etc was a waste of time.

From what I heard, there were some guys giving out leaflets on the bridge to expo. When they saw security walk up, they threw them over the bridge and all over the ground in their escape.

This was LFCC not expo, they were actually hosting the anime part of it. From what i hear towers messed up with some of the tables and a couple of dealers were left with nothing to use.

The sad truth is that AL would probably be ok if it wasn't for the people running it.

Mike Towers is a cancer, eating the heart of the UK scene.

99% of the "rumours" are either close to true, or completely true. Which, when words like "rape" are used, it takes on a fairly sinister nature. The rape story is one of those "on the border" things. He took a heavily drunk girl to her room, and he claims she leapt on him and shagged his brains out. The more probable story is she was barely able to walk/talk (several witnesses to this fact), and he figured he could make up a story if she cried rape.

The story about the expo bridge leaflets is almost true. It was actually one of the staff who ejected the leaflets... off the side of the bridge... To which the people witnessing it all aplauded.

ALcon is pretty much the con kids who can't get into the proper events go to. Mike seems to think that he's being amazing and better than other events for having a 16+ policy. Reality is that most events don't want to risk having a group of hyper 16 year old spacktards.
