Also, what cons are in this area of the photo?
    >> Anonymous 07/15/11(Fri)09:03 No.4722802
I must admit I love cosplaying in public. Sometimes my friends and I go cosplayed around our city, go to eat at restaurants and take photos with kids and mums at our streets. I find it amazing and people love it. Yeah, somebody can laugh at us, but we don't mind about them. We are having a good time and don't hurt anyone, so...
    >> Anonymous 07/15/11(Fri)09:09 No.4722804
Well, at least it looks like they had a legit reason to go instead of "Lets freak out the normies!" They probably wanted to get different shoes on their way to/during a convention.

And it's a pretty good looking Sailor Moon at that.
    >> Anonymous 07/15/11(Fri)09:32 No.4722824
Turns out she did have a reason, her feet were blistered from the boots and she wanted some flat shoes to wear.
    >> Anonymous 07/15/11(Fri)09:41 No.4722832
I did think the caption for this one was stupid. I mean it's fucking sailor moon, obviously people are going to make sailor moon comments. There's nothing else to call her, this is a straight up sailor moon cosplay.

And hell, how was sailor moon an anime for creepy pervs, anyways? Most girls I see out on the streets (and in walmart, ironically enough) wear less than sailor moon did. Just because it's animated doesn't make it creepy.

One more reason I prefer my home state of MD to there. Most non fans I know here just think it's quirky.

    Are you american?

Here in my country cosplay isn't that bad in eyes of somebody "normal". My city have theatres' skits at streets, music in live at avenues, lots of saltibankis and circus at beach, etc. Many times people thinks we're part of the spectacles, but when we tell them we're not, they're fascinating. Then they took photo os us, talks about our costumes and etc. Sometimes you see people laugh at you, of course, but it's a minority.

Cosplay in public's fine, you just have to be careful with what you're dressed as and don't do anything stupid.
I wouldn't advise Sailor Moon cosplay, but she said she was in there for a reason.
    >> Anonymous 07/16/11(Sat)06:47 No.4726329
I'm not cool with people cosplaying in public for no reason. To "freak out normal people" or "get stared at" or whatever.
Photoshoots are iffy (Most beginners start out taking pics at the mall) it honestly depends where.
If you're at a con and need to run and grab something from the store, I see no shame in it.

lol nope. Most of my cosplays are Disney characters, Slayers, Dragon ball, some MMORPGs, Pretty Cure, Gantz, One Piece, FF, KoF... Fuck your Hetalia cosplays.

Like I said, wear a costume in streets doesn't hurt anyone, it's funny and most people love seeing us. On Christmans we go to hospitals (last year cosplayed as DoReMi characters) to give children presents. People here don't see cosplay as a weeaboo thing yet. Well, if you're fat, chill, laugh at people, pissing off folks,... of course they will, but we aren't these type of people. And like I said, here it's very common spectacles on street, so sometimes they think we're part of them.

When FFXIII come out last year, we dressed up like Vanille, Hope,Snow, Lightning, Fang and Lebro, and we went together to buy the game . People reconozed us and they started take photo with us, and later the commercial center (a big one in my city) called us to work for the videogames shop, they paid us for took photos with people, for walk on the com. center while cosplaying and telling people to buy the game for a week.

    I love anecdotes lol

Actually, that difference was not always there, but I digress. I never said we were the center of the universe, but California is nothing like Maine, which might as well belong to Canada, and Texas and Arizona could just be given back to Mexico. But most Europeans (Well, Okay, the French, Spanish and German people I lived with during my college excursions) seem to think Canada = nicer Americans from my experience, anyway. No need to get all pedantic and butthurt over such things. Oversimplification is a basic brain function.

Lol, I went to a walmart once on the way to a con. Some of my underage female friends were in rather fanservicy costumes. We were getting tons of looks. When we checked out this one fat black woman, we're talking Shamuu here, was staring and as I walked by (I wasn't in costume) she muttered, "dem whities be crazy!"

I just looked at her, pointed to one of the girls with her sweet tight ass hanging out her skirt, pointed at me, and with the skeeviest grin I could muster just nodded up and down. She had a good sense of humor because she smiled and told her equally fat black friend, "dat white boy gunna git him sum booty!"

It was perhaps the most glorious day of my life.

Yeah, I always realize that I've forgotten something important as soon as I've gotten in costume, so I usually end up going to a drugstore in costume at least once a year.

I would straight up die of shame if I saw my picture posted on a site like that, though.
