Hey /cgl/, my friend and I are looking for a bit of help with the lolita fashion. I am looking for that image that gives body types and what look best on them. Help?

This is for plus size lolitas, but it's still good advice for all sizes.

Oh god... I just realized that I don't have the final updated version! Shit!

Here's the old version until someone is able to post the new one. It's so nice :(

The problem I have with this is I can't figure out my body shape.
IDK if I am a rectangle, triangle, oval, or diamond.

If you have small shoulders, you're probably either a triangle or a diamond.
Triangles' defining feature is a small upper body and large hips and thighs. Diamonds will probably have a similar upper half and lower half.

If you have average to large shoulders, you'd be a rectangle or oval.
I think rectangles have a more sharp, masculine figure whereas ovals are softer, with more of a full bust and a heavy butt.

I'm awful at identifying my own features.

Guess I gotta go take a picture...

I hope this is sufficient, anon
Also I am aware of my thunder thighs, but thank you for noticing.

What's the difference between a diamond and an oval? They're both wide in the middle. The diamond look more like they came out from an angular press-mould?

    rectangle.
    >> Melonpan !DhME1c6Sqo 07/03/11(Sun)02:10 No.4669351
    >>4669272
Ovals are softer figured and are larger in the bust and butt.
    >>4669148
I can't really tell about your stomach or chest but from that picture you could be either an oval or a triangle. You look pretty small-chested here so I'm going to go with triangle.

    I'm a 36B and I have a bit of a belly, unfortunately.

    >>4669361
In that case, I think you're an oval.
    >> Pappii 07/03/11(Sun)02:38 No.4669465
Is there a similar sort of concept for boystyle? Or does boystyle not rely so much on figure?
    >> Anonymous 07/03/11(Sun)02:41 No.4669483
    >>4669465

I'm gunna say you need to be a small rectangle to pull off boystyle well. Kodona/ouji, at least.
It's meant to mimic young boys, so being curvy is not idealistic, and there's very little you can do to stick to the aesthetic while downplaying your womanly features.
    >> Pappii 07/03/11(Sun)02:43 No.4669495
    >>4669483
So I'd assume rectangle would be ideal for something more aristocratic or dandy as well?

    Thanks for making that chart!

I'm not sure if I understand the concept of a "tightly gathered skirt" though. What do you consider these:

    http://innocent-w.jp/shopping/113202/index.html
    http://innocent-w.jp/shopping/112201/index.html
    http://innocent-w.jp/shopping/112203/index.html

I'm pretty sure the third one is exactly what you're talking about while the first and second are debatable. The last one is just lacy/frilly but isn't tightly gathered at the waist. Am I doing this right?
    >> Chan♡ 07/03/11(Sun)05:30 No.4669866
    >>4669850
You understood just fine! Gathers are what cause the vertical ripples. None of those were super tight gathers, but they are still less flattering than non-gathered for those it isn't good for. The poofy cupcake skirts tend to be gathered more so.
