It wasnt a bomb threat, just an unattended package that they found suspicious. They ended up calling the bomb squad and closed off the cafeteria, then evacuated the whole exhibition hall a few minutes later. Everything was normal after a couple hours.

My bet? They are selling swords at the con, but to transport them from the vendor they put it in an unmarked cardboard box and seal it up. Someone may have left their box behind after sitting down and forgot about it.

Apparently there was a weird box or brief case or something found in the dealer's room, I believe? The entire hall was evacuated, as well as those in the lobby. This year was an ENORMOUS improvement over last years in terms of staff politeness and motivation to keep people happy.

Example: During Saturdays "whatever the hell shut down half the con" fiasco, the staffers and volunteers were scrambling to get people secure exits and fuck up the days of only those that gave con goers a hard time. I watched who I assume was the volunteer chief of staff bitch out some chick that refused to open the exhibit halls left exit doors after the right side doors were closed off. Major props to that bro.

Another Example: THE ENTIRE ROOM DEVOTED TO PEOPLE SITTING AND SITTING IN THE HALLWAYS BEING OK

Literally every fucking time we asked Staff where something was, we got incorrect information. Nobody knew what the fuck was going on. They couldn't even point in the proper direction for the gaming room.

The worst part of this was our friend needing to go to the medical station, so we asked someone in South Hall where it was. Masquerade fucking sucked major ass. Most of the skits were godawful, there was delay after delay, and they "didn't have the AMVs" from the contest. The only good part in it was probably the MCs.

I would like to apologize to all who attended the Valve gathering. I let Pillz take the reigns this year, as he seemed to have done a lot of work organizing and planning. This was obviously a huge mistake on my part. Pillz has a huge bias for tf2, and I should have seen it coming. I attempted to intervene, but with obviously no success.

Several people have approached me proposing to run the gathering with them next year. I am going to consider the options I have and what I have learned this year to make everything right next year.

Again, I apologize for the inadequately run Valve gathering this year.
