Horrifying, since I was afraid of the Internet getting a hold of my identity. I'd rather deal with /b/tards than have /cgl/ get a hold of my awful cosplays.

When I first came here, it was because I heard I was being trolled by a friend from school. Guy didn't even cosplay. I stuck around because I'm stubborn and I didn't wanna sit down and get talked shit to, so that caused everyone to be annoyed at me. Now only some of you hate me~

First post experience? "HEY FAGUMA! YOU'RE A FUCKING LOSER!" and things along those lines of course.

I have migrated through a few different cosplay communities, from local, to coscom, to local again then to cgl. I found this place when apparently my picture was being posted in a Mario thread, which at first weirded me out since the comments were not my taste in innuendoes but I got over it and started browsing to find the site wasnt that bad. I was lucky enough to stumble across it on a day when the front page had some good threads on it, so I browsed for a few hours and found myself coming back here when I was bored.

Then I followed a link from here into a streaming room showing GL, got to know Matt, Minato, Todd, Lexxy and a few other seagulls and decided to give tripping a shot. I rather like it and I enjoy answering questions or the threads asking for help, it challenges me to think back to past projects and find a good solution. And I'm always glad when I've helped some one with something, so I stick around.

I...dunno. I remember my heavy lurking started in late 07. And I have you guys to thank for teaching me how to do it right. In the months leading up to CTcon 2008, I lost 20lbs, I learned about fabric, and where to buy not shitty wigs...and my first cosplay turned out pretty good! I missed any and all CTcon threads following, but I didn't really care at the time.

I love learning from /cgl/, and talking about this hobby I really love. I only have a few cosplay friends in 'real life' so this is a good out let.

    I dislike dramadramadrama.

I think I discovered 4chan in high school, more specifically /r9k/ - at the time, a couple of years ago (graduated, in college now) I had seen some really intelligent discussions there, and it interested me. Learning that there was Kamen Rider and such on /m/, and videogames on /v/, I broadened my horizons a little bit, lurking the whole time.
I think i started posting on /m/ under this tripcode as a roleplayer (how short-lived and rather stupidly funny it was at the time), then migrated over to /cgl/ after AnimeUSA and especially Katsucon this year.
First post experience: I don't remember tbh. :/
Favorite experience w/ /cgl/: Meetup at Katsucon, meeting Wes, Maguma, Decade, and a lot of other really awesome people. I probably came off as such a newfag, looking back on it...
Worst: One of my friends became a meme. A bad one.

I guess I should've learned a long time ago internet dramu is nothing like the real world, but that's what I get for hardly ever leaving the house. I don't even like drama, but over time I found /cgl/ has it's pleasant moments and had some awesome photodumps and coverage of cons.

I mostly come here to gather information or to make fatties rage over the internet. I am still a newb when it comes to cosplaying.

I came to 4chan in 2005 and would always bounce in between /b/ and /cgl/. It wasn't long before I left /b/ and stayed here.

Damn, I remember when Miyu, Kipi, Pik.Link and Lilixandra were posted ERRRRRRR DAY.

    >how did you first come upon /cgl/?
~2007-sh. I kept hearing horrors stories about how "mean" people were here and wanted to check it out to see what all the bitching was about.

    >What was your first post experience like?
I don't remember but I didn't make an ass out of myself nor was I called out on my newfag-ness

    >What are your favorite or worst memories of /cgl/?

Too many favorites to note. I never thought I'd say this but I miss Kipi threads.

I was posted on here LOL.

Ended up liking it here despite the horrible things being said about me... granted this was a couple months after I was posted.

I think I've know of the existence of /cgl/ essentially since I've started using the internet (only about four years ago, sadly enough). I was always afraid of it, because I sort of thought of it the same way I thought of cosfu, and they had tore me to shit over there. Then, last year, a friend of mine posted in a forum we go to "I saw (insert my username here) on /cgl/ last night!" and posted a link. I clicked it, thinking the worse. Turns out you guys actually really liked me. XD
Knowing now you weren't monsters who were going to tear me to pieces, I started lurking more, and I eventually started posting in threads I thought I could decently contribute to. And now I like it here!

GTFOEGL, probably. I bet I saw some post like, "ugh did you see that cgl thread about that dumb butch Talia/courtingdiscord/rape_blossom/PT?" and I was proly like "hey guys what's a cgl lol?????"

    >No problems
    >Drama and tutorials awww yeah

You've been a mixed bag for me, /cgl/- but it was for my own good in the end.

Is that how you got into cosplay?

Way back in I want to say 7th or 8th grade (at the height of my Weeaby yaoi fan girl stage) I had heard about /y/ from an older friend who was like "Never go there there are viruses and bad things but it's got yaoi! *insert giggle*". I being an idiot decided that I shouldn't go there. Two years later start hanging out with people who cosplay and they were talking about /cgl/ and how one of them was getting posted on it and stuff. Not wanting to be out of the loop I started lurking here. I was under age at the time so I just lurked becoming addicted to all of the drama but loving the pictures and tutorials. It felt like I was in a secret club.

After lurking for a year I started to post, that was about three years ago, maybe only tweo and a half.

    >coscom is too slow in giving me advice, let's check out this /cgl/ place everyone is talking about!
    >o-oh god why is everyone so mean to me?!
    >one anon was super nice to an obvious newfag like a ray of shining light!
    >I guess I can stick around a bit more...

And that was years ago. God, I wish I could quit you, /cgl/.

For years I collected drawn art from Japanese sites that I posted on /a/. In late 2008 I came across an artist who also took cosplay photos. Decided I might as well post some of the photos on /cgl/. Followed the artist's links and found some more artists but also other cosplay photographers. Posted some more on /cgl/. Didn't really get much of a response but stayed around.
