Lolitas on the other hand, (as far as I've seen) mainly has to do with notorious rude behavior at cons, such as putting down someone who doesn't wear "brand" or getting easily butthurt that they're not cosplaying - mainly those wanting to show off their clothes but don't like anime cons (which baffles me as to why they bother wasting their money and time going). Those girls tend to show up out of no-where and the people who are part of the area's community have never met them before. It doesn't help that the most vocal groups (again, another minority) tend to expose their drama online where everyone else can see it. Most lolitas, at least those I've met, are pretty friendly.

I've heard of cosplayers supposedly being slutty, but never heard anyone mention lolitas being promiscuous. Prudish, rather. Or insane. Mostly insane. I've heard people say that lolitas will sleep with anyone who offers to buy them brand, but wouldn't that make us whores rather than sluts? Pfft, stereotypes.

Both cosplay and lolita are very attention-grabbing, so they tend to attract girls who like attention and don't mind showing off. Of course not all of us are like that, but the ones that are, are also more likely to whore themselves out (online or otherwise).

This. Most of the secrets of that nature are troll secrets. It's an extremely small minority (less than 100 people out of the 10,000+ non-Japanese lolitas) who engage in prostitution, drug dealing, panty-selling, etc. And it's an extremely small minority of lolitas who act like total bitches. I think to a large extent everyone in the anime community may have sufferred, and or, been on the fringe at school. Isolation and lack of self confidence plays with the mind and when you're lacking experience when to say 'no' and 'wait' can be very hard.

This means that these girls are highly suseptable to positive attention and in a very backwards way at times some of the ones dressed in less can have the worst inferiority complexes. Backwards as it may sound but the automatic attention given to someone in little, however much you burn them afterwards, feeds that starved part of their mind.

Also when you're at a con and you're having fun and then someone's coming onto you, you're flatterred (or possibly disgusted but we're going to assume that the person hitting on you isn't so bad for the sake of example). Then one thing will lead to another and after that it's hard to reason why you should wait with anyone, they've done it before, you've done it before, what's the point in pussyfooting around the subject. That and for guys who've seen it all before being allowed to see a girl half topless is nothing new and nothing special. Whereas really it should be.

And I see so many girls dependant on guys in the anime community for their self esteem. I've seen them smacked and cheated on and dragged through an emotional bush backwards. Who say they hate men, they don't trust men, they 'want to concentrate on being single' and they'll still hook up with the next guy whose nice to them or take back the skeeze they just left. And it's an impossible cycle to break for some.

I think it's worth noting that people can be labeled as sluts for doing just about anything. there's no set definition of what it means. Any woman that does anything that any other person disapproves of can be called 'slut'. It's basically a meaningless insult. And clothes don't have to be revealing to be called slutty if they're just highly unusual.
