Last time I checked, Rainbow Dash is a pony. I don't understand why people get so up in arms about stylistic choices for pony gijinkas, eg. when Applejack cosplayers wear cut-off shorts or something. From my understanding, gijinkas aren't necessarily direct, literal representations of the character, but rather personifications. Artistic liberties should be able to be taken with character designs.

I've been wanting to do Rarity for a while. I love this thread.

I'm a fatty too, and I'm cosplaying Fluttershy. Doing a Lolita-esque gijinka version of her, since Lolita fashion is often associated with shy, timid, innocent girls. It was either that or mori (forest girl, Fluttershy, derp), but I don't know anything about mori.

Just put on something that covers underarm flab, a flabby tummy and thunder thighs and I don't think anyone will whine.

Do what you want to do. Do what is to your comfort level. I've always pictured Fluttershy as a lolita.

Besides, it's a cosplay with ponies. It's not like there really is a human reference to go by. People in cosplay are not deterred by their weight, so go for it. Most of the Fluttershy's I've seen, have an essence of her but not really portraying her.

Pinkie's hair is a hard shade to find, and most people associate florescent colors with energy, which Pinkie has plenty of.

That said, my Pinkie isn't using an florescent wig, but the color is just a little bit more pink than one that would be 'perfect'

On another note, let's say this anon wanted to do a Rule 63 Rarity, and was wondering what to do about the hair length. I've seen a few fan arts that have it at different lengths, but I wasn't sure what would fit best.

I want to do rainbow dash, because i act like her and I love her slightly bitchy attitude, but I really don't like how she is always drawn. I know she seems like quite a tomboy in the show, but would it be ok to wear a romper and make her a little bit cuter?
