Someone with the net handle "mif_maf" drew this picture a while back. Apparently, 2ch got a hold of it and Orcadiaper's (シャチのおむつ) popularity exploded.

A little while afterward, an anon from /d/ posted this pic here, asking /cgl/ to give it a shot, probably in jest. Well, what resulted was both /d/ and /cgl/ collaborating on different projects about the character, including a story written by a tripfag named "Desu Ex" and a bunch of seagulls expressing interest in the costume. Mif_maf himself even joined in on the action, naming the character "Gabby", producing a few more pieces for reference purposes, and expressing his excitement at the popularity of his character and the possibility of someone bringing it to life.

Well, /d/'s mods weren't too happy about their precious "secret club" getting along with another board, so they banned Desu Ex and started as much drama as they could, bringing the project to a screeching, painful halt.

Both boards get someone who tries to start it all up again every once in a while, but this is the most attention Gabby the Orcadiaper girl has gotten since then.
