that case, people like her make me sad. I 100% support my hobby from
the travel expenses/arrangements to the hotel to any costumes. I don't
rely on anyone else, and never have, since I started going to cons when I
was around 21 years old.
Shame on her, accepting money from
people like that. I use my age and life experience (as laughable or
limited as it may be) to help younger people, not scam them for what
little money they might have.
Unfortunately in this world, there
are people who feel entitled to not to need to work. They feel they can
leech off whomever - their parents, a boyfriend or girlfriend, friends,
online fans, whatever. Working doesn't necessarily mean you're going to
dig ditches or muck out the old deepfryer at McDs... so I don't
understand why these people feel like having a job/responsibility is so
degrading.
However, the people sending her money should consider
it a learning experience. You can't just go sending money to whatever
person online. It's almost as bad as the "if you send the African
ambassador $1000, there is $2mil in the bank for you!" type of scams. |
