You don't even need a badge to be in the main floors of conventions anyway. The only time you do is for stuff like going into the dealers room.

It depends on the con.

I have people who did it when the staff wasn't looking or make it look like they had a badge when they didn't. There are lax times when people are lazy than normal but it would be hard going into concerts and panels.

mostly you need a badge for:

Dealer room
Some panels
concerts
video game room.

But everything else inside of a con is usually free except for those cons that say you need a badge just to get in. Hate those.

Pretty much. Damn con in my area is "badge only" no matter where ya are.

Why sneak into one when you can work hard and earn enough money to get into the con with a badge and therefore be able to see more stuff?

SORT OF EASY MODE:
Wait for someone to post their badge on Facebook or Flickr. Bootleg posted badge and enjoy.
I overheard some staff members at Fanime telling another staff member to take down their picture of their badge on Facebook because people were bootlegging them and getting into con for free.

You'll never be able to sneak into GenCon and get away with it for very long- my boy works security there and they're tight on it!
